 That Memorable Moment

Pondering in Pasadena Bungalow Heaven

That Memorable Moment  I have been pondering.  Maybe more than usual.  And perhaps just as much as I typically ponder.

I don't keep track of such things.  No need for a "to do" list.

Things just happen as I ponder.  It's not like I relinquish taking charge of my thoughts or actions.  It's actually something more than that.  Not exacrly lost in thought but maybe that sums it up.   But it's kinda like that if I had to explain it.  Remember pondering in my view does not require explanation. It  is truly a "do anywhere, do anytime" type of activity.

I am not sure if it is something I can put into words but since this is a post with words I guess it is necessary.  Or maybe that's not true. You see I ponder.  To allow myself to think and reflect and ask myself questions.  Maybe that prompts others to do the same.

It's not about finding that memorable moment but I was wondering as I wandered in the light mist if we were to have that "best of'" flashback moment could we capture it?  Do we know it when it is happening?  Do our memories work that way?

I don't believe life is better in hindsight...but capturing and experiencing that moment while it is happening...is that possible?  Can we allow our minds to work that way?  Excuse me while my wanders.  I need to ponder again.

The photo in this post was taken by Michael Jacobs and is of a home in the Bungalow Heaven neighborhood in Pasadena, CA.  This historic neighborhood has received local and national recognition for its many examples of early twentieth century Craftsmen/Arts & Crafts movement of architecture.  A ponder-worthy place.  Definitely.

Barbara Todaro -- I understand that.  The future has much for us to look forward. The end of the week.  Maybe the end of the month.  The end of the quarter.  So many postcards.  Planning.  Creating.  Printing,

Sheila Anderson -- appropriately in the Bungalow Heaven neighborhood of Pasadena - I'm glad you liked it.

Brian England -- that's the thing with blog posts and like pondering they can be read anytime/anywhere.

Gabe Sanders -- that happens sometimes.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® -- thank you--I think.  Feel free to ponder whenever you can.

Sharon Lee -- that almost sounds like a pondering post or one in the making perhaps.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS -- I can see how that could happen.  One of the downsides to random pondering---hmm, is that repetitive?

Roy Kelley -- life is definitely a balancing act. Pondering mimics that as well.

Alexandra Ron and Alexandra Seigel -- clearing/cleansing can remind us of the good times -- reliving celebrations while celebrating anew. The best of both.

Dorie Dillard CRS GRI ABR -- and then there are those tequilla memories.

Staying present in the moment has never been my strong suit. LOL

It seems I'm always, and have always been, trying to capture the moment.

I may miss something by doing that, but I'm always so happy I have photos/videos later to look back on.

Hi Michael- I've had memorable moments but I wonder if they were memorable at the time when they happened or memorable in my mind and my perspective of that moment.

Morning Michael.

With all the pondering you go through, I hope you don't do that while you're driving.

Kathy Streib - now that is something to ponder.

Grant Schneider -- it works for me.

James Dray - focus as necessary. I'd say driving is a focus-driven task.

Joan Cox - I typically don't drink coffee much but I have heard that it works for many.

Hi Michael,

Another good post. Pondering you are very correct it is an activity that can be done at any time or place. Pondering is always good. "Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards." One of my wife's favorite quotes. She is a ponder.

Michael Jacobs - Although I have never been to "Bungalow Heaven," I would be intrigued. I would wonder about what went on behind those closed doors. How many children were conceived in this neighborhood? Who grew up to do great things for others? How did the people turn out and live their lives?

All in all, I think there must have been a lot of magical moments in the past and still a lot more to go! If I were moving to your area, I would choose you because of how you think and your knowledge and expertise in helping me to discover neighborhoods that would be new to me. This is a very clever post and now you got me pondering!

Yes, Michael, I believe as we get older and hopefully wiser, we are more in tune with the moments when they occur. When I was younger, ha, ha, ha, no, it was just life. But I recognize life happening now. For example, I reminisce on the day Hella Rothwell and I had finished snorkeling at Two Step Beach south of Kona and we sat on the lava rocks in the sun. I had just bought a house in Hawaii. Turning my face in the warm sun toward Hella I said, "It doesn't get any better than this." And it doesn't.

I do find myself regretting times that I felt like I wasn't present enough during a particular time spent with a loved one or even at an event, Michael. I'm listening to others and miss the 'big' things going on around me.

Those moments don't happen often but, I have convinced myself that the memory of it all has helped me be more present as I get older!

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP -- much like Pasadena, CA and the rest of the world, Bungalow Heaven has seen and continues to see many changes.  Each year the Bungalow Heaven Historic Tour provides visitors an opportunity to see some remodeled homes as well as homes in process of renovation plus some interesting historic home advice from tradespeople and others.  It's a nice tour.

Michael Jacobs,  I have always loved going back in my memories and I go back beginning at age 2 years and 3 years old.  I relive them and they are today as real as they seemed at the time...  I have so many, many beautiful memories that it is always a real experience reliving them...fun, too.,,,,  Like,my Betsy-Wetsy baby doll Christmas Eve when I was 3....  listening to the Jack Benny radio show one Sunday afternoon when I was 5 and loving the 3 NBC  sounds on the radio.  I had looked up from the top I was playing with and paused to listen to the beautiful 3 sounds.  Michael, I have always loved those 3 sounds.
