You have to research the company and the interviewers. Hirers know that they are dealing with someone who is serious about the position when you are prepared with relevant data. You might want to consider mentioning press release and revenue numbers quote statistics and are familiar with the executive background. You have to know the company values and how easy it is to find out potential jobs and their responses to you when you apply for the position.
RESEARCH THE POSITION YOU ARE APPLYING FOR
One thing that hirers are constantly surprise is how you or other people really have the understanding of the role you or they are applying for. Advertisements are partly to blame for this they are sometimes misleading the idea. Also one of the important things is to know the real insight into the role and the recruitment process. Dig deeper than the advertisement in that way you can find out what skills the employer requires.
Employers would want you to be self aware. Have a long hard look at what you have achieved, the way you have achieved that result and that the skills you have developed or demonstrated along the way is basically from you. This type of reflection helps you understand your strengths – it gives you confidence and helps you overcome nerves.
You have to remember that two interview process are not the same – it depends on the organization and the role you could be interviewed by a recruitment consultant, the HR manager, the line manager, and all three individually or any combination. One thing is for sure they will have different agenda for interview.
Most organizations now use behavioral questions – which mean that they are expecting you to provide specific examples of where you have demonstrated the skills they are seeking.
Be friendly – people like that! Once of the best ways to relax is to think that the interviewer is on your side. Good interviewers are not interested on tipping you up. They will always approach the interview in a professional manner.
Leave plenty of time to have an interview, rushing it up will breeds panic. No matter what excuse you have, lateness is noted. It creates a negative impression and it puts you behind immediately. Allowing waiting time for an interview gives you time to compose yourself – and last but definitely not the least BE YOURSELF!
