I got this email this morning and it made me smile.  
 
Thank you for responding to our inquiry about real estate in the Destin area.  We wanted to provide a little background and information on our property search.
 
My wife (Kim) and I have been married for over 20 years, and we have two teenage daughters, ages 13 and 18.  Our family lives in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI, and we have owned three different single family homes over the last 22 years.  
 
Florida was a popular destination for us as children.  Kim's parents lived in Miami, and her aunt still lives in Gainesville.  Siesta Key was our regular beach destination, and we always dreamed of owning a piece of the white sand beach.  Realistically, Siesta Key is a bit more pricey, and we need to consider other areas to work within our budget.  Two years ago, we chose to take a trip to Miramar Beach at a condo we found on an internet search.  We could drive to Destin in one day as opposed to the two day journey to Siesta Key.  We were pleasantly surprised at how white the sand is in the area and really enjoyed the vibe.  We stayed at Beach Retreat in Miramar Beach.  The unit was exactly the size and location that we would love to own for our own travel and to rent out when we are not on property.
 
So, now we are ready to begin the journey of finding a condo that will work for us.  We are looking for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo and ideally, it would include the bunk beds build into the wall within the unit if that is at all possible.  Our preferred price point is between $200,000 and $300,000, but we could stretch that a little for the perfect property.  Our goal would be to purchase a property with rental opportunities with us visiting two to three times per year.  We would retire the the condo in 15 to 20 years and discontinue renting at that time.  We have not done a pre-approval yet, but we have previously been pre-approved for this amount while carrying our current home mortgage.  
 
Our goal at this time is to become educated on the market in the Destin area and begin a relationship with someone who can offer us alternatives and ideas to meet our long term objectives.  We are not looking to drop everything and scurry down to buy now.  We think that is important for you to know, but we are interested in traveling to the area for a few days when the time is appropriate for a hands on shopping experience for further education.  Ultimately, we are looking to make a move in the next 12 to 18 months.
 
We are looking for a person who can guide us through the process.  We would like to work with someone who will help us understand the full picture and is willing to take the time to educate us on buying a second home.
