Happy Birthday, Mr. Lincoln!

Lincoln DEFor ages, Delaware recognized February 12 as Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. Then came “Monday holidays” to make three-day weekends for travel, convenience and a boost to the economy. Then in 1989, state lawmakers blended Lincoln’s first Monday with Washington’s third Monday birthdays and renamed the February’s third Monday “President’s Day.” Federally, it’s still “Washington’s Birthday.” Now, does that really seem fair to Abe… Honestly?

Good morning Carolyn. I like to celebrate people individually and not a catch all. I remember when they we celebrated each on their own days.

Thanks Sheila. It's like saying, "We can't bother with celebrating your birthday, so we'll pick one day every year for your whole family."

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

My husband was born on Washington's birthday on the 22nd and he feels like George got cheated when they combined the holiday closer to Lincoln's. He'll get over it....eventually
