Let me start by saying that food is a HUGE part of the real estate business. It's where networking happens at the local level. Not world-wide web contact - person to person contact. We spend countless hours socializing at the trendiest restaurants, lounges and bars to have a good time, rejoice, celebrate and make deals. But at the end of the day, we go back because the food, drink and service are all top notch.
I have the good fortune of eating at literally thousands of restaurants and frequenting even more "hot spots" with friends, family and clients. I currently write the real estate monthly column in my local city paper and was contemplating blogging about similar content on Active Rain.
After much thought, I finally decided that a Food & Drink Blog would be better for two reasons.
[1] There are plenty of good Active Rain bloggers covering virtually every up-to-the-minute issue in the real estate world and;
[2] A Food & Drink blog will not only reach the consumer but will also prove helpful to all of my fellow real estate professionals, both local and to those abroad, who will ultimately make a trip to our little piece of heaven down here in South Florida.
The purpose of EWMgourmand will be to discuss the local fare, identify new places to try and to comment on those establishments in an effort to provide insight for those in need of serious critique. Obviously, opinions will vary and there will be some who disagree a little or a lot, but I promise to give unfettered feedback based on MY personal experience!
