I have been tagged to do a Super 2008 meme by Chris Fisher & Lori Franks!!
So, it appears two people want to know my favs and learn a little bit more about
me. My answers might change from day to day, I am a work in progress. A
definite answer today might bring a totally different answer next week.
Hey, we are all growing, right?
So, here goes the answers for today:
1. Who's your favorite musical artist?
I do not have just one, although listening to Aretha Franklin can make the hair on the back of
my neck rise and tears come to my eyes. I am dating myself here but she is an artist from
my teens of whom I have never grown tired. My dear hubby took me to see her in concert and
she was even more awesome in person! Talk about 'rock the house'. I also enjoy listening
to the Dixie Chicks, Etta James, Rosemary Clooney, The Beatles, Mozart, Zydeco, Elvis,
Wagner, Janis Joplin and Bluegrass.
2. Whos's your favorite artist?
Ok, this is like choosing one grain of sand on the beach to have a picnic! Art speaks to my soul
and I could never choose just one. I am drawn to Asian Art and my favorite right now is an
antique Thangka (pronounced "tonka") that I have hanging in my hall. Thangkas are religious
scrolls from Tibet and Nepal usually depicting a Buddist mandala, or wheel of life (shows the steps
to enlightenment). They were made and are currently being made by Buddist monks.
3. Who is your favorite blogger?
Again, don't have just one. I will stick to Active Rain, as that is where I am today. I do read
Gary Woltal ( for inspiration), Chris Fisher( she is so fresh & uncensored), Carole Provenzale
(takes the high road consistently), Mike Jones (for his friendly style and downhome demeanor),
and many, many others here on Active Rain who cheer up my day.
4. If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would it be and what is the most interesting
thing about them?
I would like to meet Abraham Lincoln not only because of his convictions and place in
history but also because he had such a wonderful sense of humor. I can't imagine
anything better than listening to his stories and laughing the whole time.
5. What did you want to be when you grew up?
Either a movie star like Loretta Young (my idol) or a ranch owner with lots of horses.
6. What is the most interesting piece of trivia you know?
I know tons of useless facts and trivia, I drive my family crazy but they all want to be my
partner when we play the trivia game. Example: A common rye plant has over 13 million
rootlets with a combined length of over 380 miles.
7. If you could live in any point in history what would it be and why?
Right now is pretty interesting, especially with all the excitement of instant communication
that we have today. I really think we are on the threshold of wonderful changes in our world.
8. What is the most interesting job you have ever held?
Hands down, no question, "MOM" was the most interesting and rewarding job I have ever held.
Grandmother is coming in a close second. This is the only job I have ever had that took all
my resources to do an adequate job. And it was 24-7. No vacation or sick days. I would do it
again in a nano-second.
Thanks for this excercise in choosing my short lists, Chris & Lori.
Here are my victims selections for the new round of Super 8 memes:
Looking forward to reading all about YOU ! And sending a little link- love your way.
