It’s a seller’s market. However, that doesn’t mean you can over-price your house and have it sell quickly or at your asking price. Homebuyers will always want to get the most home for the money they have. And thanks to the internet, today’s homebuyers know more about home values than ever before.
Selecting the right price for your house is one of the most important factors in making sure it sells quickly. Get on the internet and look at homes similar to yours that are currently for sale and take note of what the asking prices are. Then, search for homes listed at the price you had in mind and compare them to your own house.
Buyers will jump at the chance to purchase a properly priced home, meaning you may wind up with a multiple offer situation. Getting multiple offers will often result in final offers above your asking price. Starting out with a good understanding of home values will put you at an advantage and help you get the most money for your house.
3. Do Your Research Before Hiring An Agent
You’ll want to select your real estate agent based on their experience, knowledge and customer reviews. People are quick to make decisions based on relationships they already have, but it’s important to consider other factors.
Do a Google search to identify local agents and look at what past customers are commenting. Look at their website and see if they have a noteworthy online presence. The best real estate companies will allocate hours each day actively marketing your house on the internet. This effort will be apparent from the amount of activity and how the company presents itself online.
A detailed marketing plan can sell a home for 10-15% more than it would have without advanced digital marketing strategies. Considerable marketing efforts are required to reach all of the homebuyers you need for maximizing competition for the house to increase the final selling price.
