Some of the coolest things I have found in homes are things that have been created by hand. I love when houses are nicely and minimalist decorated. Here in Lake Arrowhead we have an abundance of modern yet rustic style cabins that boast of beautiful wood beams and walls. I love the natural look and feel and I love it even more when a homeowner can make a mountain in the woods feel like a rustic farmhouse.
With so many new trends in the rustic arena, I love looking for new ideas because I can give simple, easy and cost effective answers to my clients when they are searching for staging ideas when selling their home. From rustic candles and candle holders to centerpieces to accent vases, the possibilities are endless.
Living in Lake Arrowhead with all of our lush tree's, our yards are sometimes flooded with twigs and branches. Some of the most amazing candle dishes I have seen are with simple broken up twigs, glued around a glass candle vase. It's simple, extremely inexpensive and looks stunning. Candles are warm and inviting and can create a subtle home fragrance and look great on bathroom counters, kitchen counter-tops and even in living room entry ways. Large logs from fallen trees make beautiful candle tea light holders and are even an excellent holder for greenery like succulents. If you are not handy with saws to cut out the holes needed for these items, many of our locals are usually available to help.
Lanterns create a dimmed glow of light that makes a home feel cozy. Vintage stores, flea markets and even craft stores have lanterns readily available. Adding a large wood slice with a lantern sitting on top or even a mason jar with a floating candle and vase full of baby breath is an amazing and simple decor idea that looks attractive without breaking the bank.
Whatever your style there are so many beautiful things you create yourself that most of us already have laying around our home or in the yard. Staging your home for events, for sale or simply decorating does not have to be hard or complicated.
