Alstroemeria, commonly called the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Alstroemeriaceae. They are all native to South America although some have become naturalized in the United States, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Madeira and the Canary Islands. Wikipedia

Altroemeria is one of our favorite bouquet flowers.  They last a week in a vase.  They come in many colors.  The range of colors is immense, and our last count, there were 54 varieties.

Wishing you a delightful Sunday!

Good morning,  Alexandra and Ron - often as soon as I learn the name, some history and place of orgin I forget those things while simply staring/gazing. It's good for me.  At the moment and in the moment too.

Another lovely spot of color and cheer. I also like that they symbolize wealth and prosperity, as well as friendship.

That means when I see these available, I can indulge and bring some home. I used to love the scent of hyacinths... but can't tolerate it any more... I get migraine type headaches from the scent.
