Morning Endre.

Back in my days of law enforcement I grew numb to others issues, even death was just another day at the office.  Now, I sometimes tear up at those commercials meant to tug at our heart strings.  

We have only one fir baby left, when he passes I know we won't go through that again

Your parents set a great example, and you are setting one also, for anyone who reads your words. Providing end-of-life care means a dog or cat (now family member) will be surrounded by love in their late life, something they may not have had much of before. That is a wonderful thing. Thank you.

Endre - you and Diane have very big hearts.  I love what you are doing for these helpless animals who love seeing your friendly faces.

Good morning, Endre... I literally had tears in my eyes reading this post. As you know, rescue/shelter pets are one of my personal causes, as well. These creatures, along with children, are amongst the most vulnerable in our society and their causes are the ones that I support first. You and Diane are heroes in my eyes. 

Good morning Endre. The joy you get from giving is much more appreciated than the joy of a get-a-way weekend. Kudos to you! Enjoy your day!

Hello Endre - your parents set the right example by setting the tone and constant reinforcement of their beliefs.  Diane along with you are doing the same today. Good job.  It truly is a commitment. 

It's clearly from the dust, Endre! We need to find you another housekeeper!

Seriously, I am watching with genuine compassion and interest, this new journey you and Diane are taking. If there is anything missing in this realm, it's senior care and devotion to those fur babies who are in life's final phases. We have that same issue here at our shelter and adoptive agencies and while I want to be as loving and heroic as you & Diane, I haven't quite mustered up the courage to that leap, 

My problem, as is yours, I fall in love at first sight with fur babies! I am confident that you both have discussed this well beyond what I can write here but, my feeling is that you both are willing to give heart & soul, knowing that these fur babies will have had the best 'final phase' of their lives. I just don't know how you do it otherwise. The heartbreak alone is keeping me (and many others, I'm sure) from taking this journey with you. 

Have I ever told you? - You two absolutely ROCK! 

When we are in need and we receive help, it makes it crystal clear why we should give to others when we are able.

Hi Endre- I love that your parents taught you by doing and you have carried it on. There is giving and then there is GIVING, which is what you and Diane do. Your very special act of being a kind of hospice for dogs. You both deserve a special reward and recognition. 

I worked briefly at the Sacramento SPCA when I first got to town, waiting for my license again. It is heartbreaking work and so emotional, nothing like I thought. I really reasonate with Diane's and your involvement in rescues and adoptions. My parents instilled a love of animals in all of their children but they were not very generous to others. Fortunately, my other family members such as grandparents, were.

The gift of giving goes far beyond a simple gesture Endre and your parents knew it and passed it down to you. It may mean the world to the receiver and is so much appreciated, sometimes there are no words. Your kindness toward animals in need has not gone unnoticed!

You and Diane have hearts of gold. You've never shared photos of Diane but I'm glad you shared her photos with the various pups you have loved and cared for. Thank you for everything you and Diane have done to love on these precious fur babies.

Endre, you and Diane provide such inspiration for me. I love how you are helping the senior fur babies.

I dont know about the DNA but for me I grew up helping others

We are sure the "four foooteds" as my Mom used to call her "grand-cats" and dog...appreciate your attention. Their thanks is expressed in love only people with Pets understand.  We would politely disagree with weekends off implying neglect of furry friends.  Everyone we know has a "pet sitter" that their animals just love including us...three boys next door who wear Dini out playing and leave Magic after his customary few pets and a purr.Appreciate your entry...and 4 footed gift !

That makes perfect sense - they really got a bad deal with their previous humans, Endre. It just breaks my heart.

Yes, I think she's milking this personal chef thing, Endre! She's a smart cookie!! 

Endre, It always amazes me how similar our upbringing was as my parents were very much like yours and it has stayed with me. What you and Diane are doing for the animals is hard but also rewarding and I read your post with tears...obviously very dusty here too. I'm glad to hear that your cooking is a hit with Carmen. :)  Diana

A great post! You come from pretty special parents and grandparents their hearts were definitely in the right place! Your's and Diane's are too. Tracy my wife is very much like Diane her love for animals is incredible. She volunteers and fosters for a local rescue. We will be fostering a puppy once she returns in March that needs hospice care due to a very bad heart murmur.

We have been foster fails twice! And if I had let Tracy it would have been twice more! We have had a lot of dogs come through our doors, and a lot of tears shed by Tracy. But she would never give it up for the world she loves it.
