I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.
Perhaps you are unaware that there are actually statistics about nearly everything under the sun. Well I have heard it said that New Englanders consume more ice cream per capita than any other group of people!
That being said, I believe that we New Englanders are also "Ice Cream" snobs. Most any ice cream will not do for us. We like good ice cream. That geleto stuff or soft serve does not make it here although once in a while it's OK. We like homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors.
Recently we had a chance to spend the day with our friends and fellow Active Rain bloggers Monika and Jay McGillicuddy. As the day wore on "the big guy" began to talk about taking the McGillicuddys to a new ice cream place we recently discovered in Barrington , NH. So we all hopped into the car and drove the 15+/- miles to "Sugar and Ice" on Route 125 in Barrington.
The ice cream here is still made one batch at a time in flavors sure to please the most discriminating pallet. The first time I went here I was hooked as the chocolate is not just chocolate it is Belguim Chocolate. Yes dark chocolate that makes me drool just thinking of the creamy delicacy.
If you are an ice cream connosour, find your way up to Barrington, NH and have a scoop or two of your favorite flavor or try something new. They serve this homemade treat in cups, standard sugar cones, homemade waffel cones, sundaes with numerous toppings, banana splits, brownie sundaes and the frozen list goes on.
BTW the propriter of this business was born and raised in Germany so my hubby was sure to introduce her to the McGillicuddys to give Jay an opportunity to practice his German.
