NYC Food Tour : Upper West Side Edition : Wine, Pizza, and Pastry
Eileen and I have been living in the Upper West Side neighborhood of NYC for over 10 years now, time sure does fly by!! When we aren't out and about hustling in this fast paced New York City real estate market, we are just like every other couple living in Manhattan.
We like to walk around the neighborhood try out new places and go back to some of our favorites. The video below is a new series that we created that highlights just a few of our Go-To Spots in the Upper West Side. Please check it out and comment in the video.
Here are some quick links to the places we went to :
Recolte- We love this place, almost every time we get a loaf of their Pink Lady Bread. It has all of these strawberries and walnuts baked inside with some near perfect crust.
Amsterdam Wine Co - Do you hate going into a wine store and not knowing what to pick out? I know I do, and this is why I always enjoy Amsterdam Wine Co. I also like it because its right next to my subway stop at 72nd Street and Broadway, so I can hop off the subway, walk just a few steps into their store, get some solid recommendations in a casual atmosphere and I'm home in 5 minutes about to pop open that bottle of wine.
Francesco's Pizzeria - This really is one of those quintessential NYC neighborhood pizza spots. There are a lot of pizza shops in every neighborhood. Just thinking off the top of my head, I can think of at least a half dozen within a 5 minute walk of our building, so you know the competition is stiff. Francesco's always delivers a solid slice of pizza, thats close by. When you are craving a slice of pizza, you need it fast, taking the subway to some world famous place and waiting 30 minutes for a slice of pizza is just not my thing.
So there you go, some of our favorite places to eat and drink in the Upper West Side, the neighborhood we call home. We always like to hear about the best places to eat, let us know what you think!
