We loved our move to the Virginia Beach oceanfront
When were young, Chef Dolores and I owned a home in the Green Acres section of Churchland in Portsmouth, Virginia. Business was good and we had purchased a site for a new home and the architect had completed the plans for our new home.
One of our friends lived in a cooperative apartment at the Virginia House on the Virginia Beach oceanfront on Atlantic Avenue. He told us about an available unit on the ninth floor with direct ocean views and suggested that we should consider it. We looked at it and decided to purchase it and move to the beach rather than building a new home. An architect helped us with a renovation and interior decorators helped us select all new furnishings. Then we had the fun to decorate the walls with artwork.
We lived there for eighteen years before moving to Maryland to be closer to family members. Living at the beach provided a better quality of life than we have found in any other home that we have owned. It is easy to love the walks on the beach!
The added benefits of living in the area lead to some major business opportunities as well. As we now think about downsizing, those memories encourage us to think about a condo or cooperative unit in a resort area.
