Americans taste on drink change. Coors and Budweiser are all having financing problems. They are not popular anymore. Met a couple from Milwaukee asked about popularity of Schlitz. When you are out of Schlitz you are out of beer. Well, the ingredients used were cost reduced to keep the profit up and it is not the same beer taste anymore. In fact, Pabst Brewing Company here in west coast took over selling different brands and Schlitz is now under Pabst.
I went to local Safeway to look at the modern drinks on the shelf. They seem to be all exotic with new names that I have never heard of. $9.99 for a six pack. Same with Monster energy drink which contains sugar and caffeine with effects of adenoshine to prevent falling asleep. As for the exotic herbal drink which I found in Barcelona, Spain. My reviews is as following:
It was hazy golden beer with no head. The aroma is hay, malty, grass and dusty. Taste is mild bitter and slight sweetness too, corny and granny. It was strange overall to me. It was drinkable, but I felt nothing.
Comes in 0.31 liter size, not Euro 0.31 price as I thought. I wish I had a litmus paper to check for pH etc. I probably will not consume it again. It was a curiosity sample of what people from other countries are drinking. All that hype about after effects was not experienced.
I am not sure it would taste better with peanuts or smoke similar herbs to get high. I surely thought it taste like a mild soapy cold beer. I noticed nada afterwards. I paid around 3 Euros for it. It is not cheap compared to other European bier.
