The Spring Selling Season is Right Around the Corner
Fifteen days until spring! This, I heard on the news this morning. While the wacky winter weather may not have affected everyone in the nation, Long Island has seen its share of cold, snowy, and icy conditions. As such, only the most determined buyers are out there looking.
Plenty of local open houses continue to be scheduled. Real estate agents everywhere - eternally optimistic - hammer open house signs into the ubiquitous, frozen heaps that line our streets. Shoveling the walkways is a pre-requisite to letting buyers in to ensure everyone's safety.
There may be small turnout despite the fact that an all-out effort is made to advertise the property but, as you can already guess, super serious buyers will still show up.
While spring is not the only time of year that encourages home sales, (i.e., the holiday season, when a house is dressed to the max) the warmth of the selling season can't come soon enough for me.
As pretty as it may be, none of the prospective buyers may want to venture outside for a tour and, for the time being, are forced to envision that grass and pavers really do exist underneath the snow and ice.
Let's hear it for the spring selling season when curb appeal and accessibility are at its most desirable and enraptured dreams of home and community often begin to take root.
