This weekend in Littleton we have an annual Gear Swap being held by the Living the Dream Brewing Company. Gear Swaps are a way to clean out your garage and make room for your new outdoor gear that is primed and ready to be bought for the new season of your outdoor adventures. As seasons pass and depending on how extreme your outdoor experience is, you may have need of new gear quickly, or you may need to get rid of your underutilized gear, in preparing for new events in your outdoor adventures. Join your neighbors in our Littleton property management communities to buy and sell all the under-used, and still in great shape, outdoor equipment in our community. The list is long, but they are looking for backpacks, camping gear, skis, headlamps, boots, and anything other outdoor gear. Just leave the long underwear at home! If you are a seller, send over the inventory list, pickup the item tags, drop off your tagged gear, they’ll sell out and you get to the plot how to spend a check for 80 percent of their earnings. The Gear Swap opens at noon to the public and at 11:30am to Friends of the Backcountry members. Deadline to register will be this weekend, to allow them to have time to set up the entire venue with all the belongings of the community. All proceeds go to the Backcountry Conservation and Education Fund nonprofit. Free entry to come in to the venom, donations accepted and there are sellers and buyers at a micro transaction level throughout. We have heard word of many people finding a piece of gear at a reasonable price that is a great condition for it. That way you can get and find and uncover some awesome piece of gear. Also, and you didn’t hear this from us, but you can get into the Backcountry Gear Swap up to a half hour early by becoming a friend of the backcountry. From the actual description program, word for word, “A Friend of the Backcountry is a membership that directly supports the Backcountry Conservation and Education Fund 501c3 nonprofit. The mission is to improve wildlife habitat, inspire the next generation of nature stewards, and ignite a lifelong love of the outdoors for all. Early entrance to the Backcountry Gear Swap is just the start of perks for Friends of the Backcountry which include freebie gear, discounts, and a tax-deductible donation...not to mention the warm, fuzzy, feel-good feeling of backing local wildlife habitat conservation and environmental education.” So hopefully you attend and find an optimal piece of gear and walk away waiting for the next year’s Gear Swap that came from.
