YouTube Thursdays - Mindfulness, Videos, and Joy
Enjoy Life and Stay Mindful
About two weeks ago, on one of our few nice days of late, Bernie pruned the fruit trees and sprayed them with an organic dormant oil. I encouraged him to shoot a video of the process. Many of our ViewHomes™ of Clark County clients have rural properties with fruit trees and it will be helpful to have a "how-to" video to share.
While Bernie was working on the Asian pears, he heard the loud humming of bees in the nearby spring heather. Even though it's been in the 20's and 30's nearly every day for weeks, Nature is still a buzz with the business of renewal. Mindful of the moment, he stopped and turned the camera to capture the activity and sounds.
He didn't stop there either. While taking the pruned tree tips down to the fire pit, he noticed a lot of activity at our hummingbird feeder. Thoughtfully, he set up the tripod nearby and let the camera run. Mindfulness once again led him to another great opportunity to capture a moment in Nature - and after all, it is our Viewhomes tagline - Nature As Neighbors.
It's also a big part of who we are, therefore, these moments are what give us great joy.
It's easier to get things done when you follow your bliss.
WE'VE BOTH NOTICED, IF WE AREN'T INTERESTED IN SOMETHING, IT DOESN'T GET OUR ATTENTION.
If you are really committed to using video as a marketing tool, following your passions is one of the best way to accomplish it. And, staying mindful during the process will likely lead you to other moments of opportunity.
When Bernie ended the day, his cheeks were flushed with fresh air, he had accomplished an important job, and he had taken the time to notice the small details in the world around him. His soul was filled with joy.
Plus, we now have enough material for three new videos! We're certain you get the point of this story.
Much like Anita Clark 's Facebook Fridays, we encourage you to subscribe to each other's YouTube Channels - and take a minute to "like" or leave a comment. You can also add your own YouTube Channel in the comments below, and ask for subscribers. Be sure to subscribe back though - it's quid pro quo!
