The Palos Verdes Library District has some great free movies that they will be showing during the month of March, 2019.  Each month they offer a different selection of foreign movies, “latest” releases,  and classic cinema.  Most of the screenings will have some post film discussion which adds an opportunity to socialize with others in the community.  In March, the following movies will be presented.

The PVLD’s Ciné-Monde, a film series featuring notable films from around the globe which are shown on the second Thursday of the month, will be screening THE DEATH OF STALIN (UK, 2017) on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room.  This film takes place in Moscow, in 1953.  After being in power for nearly 30 years, the Soviet dictator, Josef Stalin, takes ill and quickly dies.  The members of the Council of Ministers now scramble for power.  This event is free and open to the public.

The Multiplex film series will be offering a very special feature on March 28, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. RBG (2018), will be presented which shows the exceptional life and career of U. S.  Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who has developed a breathtaking legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon.

Classic Movies at Noon, which shows films from the 1930’s through the 1990’s on the first Tuesday of the month, will be screening on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at noon THE WOMEN (1939) in the Malaga Cove Gallery.  This movie is a study of the lives and romantic entanglements of various interconnected women.

All of the film screenings will take place at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room, except for Classic Movies at Noon which shows at the Malaga Cove Gallery located at 2400 Via Campesina, Palos Verdes Estates.  The Peninsula Center Library is located at 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estates.  For more information regarding any of the films, call 310-377-9584.
