Have You Ever Had One of "Those" Days?

All I can say is I am pretty lucky that my natural disposition is pretty easy going. Plans change? That's OK. I go with the flow, after all, I spend a considerable amount of time in Hawaii where the motto is expect the unexpected. I also actually thought I would simply "ease" back into being in Sacramento, in our chilly and wet weather, by leaving open options and starting out slow.

Well, none of that happened yesterday. Much to the surprise, I imagine, of this guy who called to demand a showing. He called from out of state, said he and his father would be buying a home together, and he wanted to see a listing the following morning. He also mentioned his agent was on vacation. When I explained to him that his agent would not appreciate another agent interferring in their relationship and, in fact, to go around her would be in violaton of the Code of Ethics, he ignored my information.

I noticed the phone number registration on my Caller ID did not match the caller's name. I asked for his agent's name and offered to call her.  He did not want me to call his agent. OK, then I would call her broker and arrange for an agent in her office to show him, providing the seller would agree to the appointment on such short notice. He didn't want me to do that, either. OK, one of my exclusive buyer's agents could also show him the property, but they would expect to represent him. No, he then said he would call his agent and have her call me. But of course, I received no such call.

That was just a side situation. There were a lot more upsets yesterday than trying to help a person who did not want to be helped. Just look at that photograph of my assistants blocking my access to important data like how to change a freakin' battery in your vehicle's key fob.

Good morning,  Elizabeth- - -I see that you and Murphy have found Sacramento life "back to normal".  It's good to be able to roll with the punches.

Oh man, I'm sitting here wondering what's worse. The jerk who tried to rope you into a showing, or a bunch of worms. I'm going to have to go with worms this time. However, only because you were wise enough NOT to allow this guy to talk you into a showing.

James Dray That's all we can do, roll with the punches. At the end of the day, everything got handled. But man-oh-man, NOT what I wanted to do.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD I have never encountered worms wiggling in cat poop before. Waving their tiny flags. That was fairly unsettling. At first blush, what are those white things? OMG, they are moving. Then freak-out set in until I collected myself, grabbed a plastic bag and scooped it up with my bare hands. Ick!

I remember my Hawaii vacations always found me taking 4 days to wind down to their relaxed speed, but it took about a week for me to get back up to mainland speed, once I returned home.

Myrl Jeffcoat Yes, you are right. It often takes me twice as long to acclimate to Sacramento than it does to Kona.

I've had those days myself, Elizabeth... but not the worms (thankfully!). I think I'd have gone bananas if I saw them! As for Uber... we had so many issues with them, we only use Lyft now.
