We recently submitted an article to a local magazine for active adventurers over the age of 50. It was free, and we plan to submit more at the encouragement of the editor. The article is about the option and benefits of Multigenerational living. It also included the above photo.
This week, when mom went to her Silver Sneakers exercise class, Bernie and I spent the hour on the treadmill. At the end class, she handed me the article we'd written. One of the people in her class cut it out of the magazine when he recognized mom in the photo. According to her, everyone in class gathered around asking about our living situation. She felt a bit like a celebrity.
Last night, we received a call from one of my mother's friends. They'd lost track of each other over twenty years ago. Guess how she found mom? The article in the local magazine, fortunately it also lists our phone number. This woman is younger than mom and still lives in her home. However, she told mom when she's ready to move, she'll call Debb and Bernie to help her.
Bernie and I are pleased. This is the first week of the publication - not too shabby for free advertising.
