A little about me and my background. I started back in internet marketing and software development back in the late 1990's.  I'm giving you a bit of history here to reveal what's happening right now with Google local search ( mobile search ) and why this timing is so critical. Google owns and has developed 3 key google properties for marketing and generating business. 1. Googe My Business 2. Youtube and 3. AdSense. You might be using some or all of these by now.

 

Well, I've been doing online marketing long before Google was even thought of. Google has a specific patent or rollout which they follow with most of their big releases. They pay their users and marketers big time to establish complete and utter dominance the markets they go into. Once dominance is established they tighten up the payment funnel big-time.

 

 

The History of Google AdSense

 

Back in the mid 1990's Google wanted to grow their new advertising platform called Google AdSense. I'm sure you've heard of it. To establish complete and utter dominance they invested billions in paying their publishers, marketers like me who hosted their contextual advertising on their websites and paid them a lot of money per click. Maybe you use or have used AdSense to get leads.

 

Then on August 22, 2008 that's a day it all stopped. Google reached saturation point. They said thanks for your help guys ( us marketers ) we are now cutting the Adsense revenue to publishers by approximately 95 %. This was a huge cut in pay.

 

At that time there was a 2-3 year window of maximum opportunity for AdSense. Once that stopped marketers like me all focused on Google SEO, Amazon marketing or other platforms. The search engine was gaining popularity and it was changing from a brand name to a verb. You know just google it.



The SEO Avalanche

 

Right now I am sure you have seen an avalanche of SEO agencies popping up overnight. Even myself I got into SEO full time as a result of this. It's very much different than it was back in 2008. I am sure you remember when you can rank easily in the top of the search. Not so much anymore. Google clamped down. It takes some actual skills now. Google's complete search dominance was established and they decided to pull back and tidy up the search engine experience. But added new search algorithms like Panda, Penguin and so on. Back at the time it was a significant challenge.

Then they started focusing on video same as with Adsense they paid their creators exorbitant amounts in advertising dollars to create great content for the platform. At last count I heard there was over a million channels with over a million subscribers establishing complete and utter dominance in the online video world.

 

Once they achieve this they then started pulling back on the investment in growing their platform and started being a little bit more picky on which videos they pay advertising on. The term in the Creator Youtube community was called de-monetization.



Here's where it gets really important for Real Estate brokerages right now right. We're still at the beginning of transferring local business to Google mobile. As you know mobile is dominating all online spaces and that's where the eyes are and that's exactly where Google is targeting. They trying to fill out the mobile space with all the local businesses in the world. 



Once Google My Busines Gets Saturated it will Clamp Down Again

 

 

Once that market is saturated just like adsense, google search, online video they'll start to clamp down again. As you know I've been doing this for many years and it's my estimation that we've got about a solid two to three years to crush it in this space. Right now in Google you can dominate your local Real Estate business big time.

 

So I've studied this platform which is Google My Business, GMB for short and found some great strategies and hacks. Why do I call them hacks? Because there is always a loophole when Google rolls something out new. An error in their code if you will.

 

 

 

 

Get your GMB into the 3 Pack and Rank Long Term

 

Now it's all about mobile search. It is possible to get into the 3 pack and even on top of the search. It's not easy but very well possible to outrank any other business and stay there long term. But it has to be done white hat. Google is making GMB posts more and more of a factor in its algorithm. ( tip )

 

Your business can now show up in the three pack in Google Desktop and mobile local search. Right now is really a huge opportunity to really get your GMB listing rooted and future proofed. Before Google clamps down on these. If you use GMB part time and post 1 time per week and fail to do proper citations you will be outranked.



History Repeats Itself

 

 

The point I'm making here is you know history repeats itself.

We're at the beginning of a two to three-year opportunity to really crush it in this space by supporting Google giving them what they want with your local GMB listing. If I knew that back at the beginning of the Adsense early days I mentioned how much more effort I would have put into it at that point in time. I would have done a lot more.

 

We're there right now with local mobile search for your real estate business. Google my business is not going anywhere.It's just getting started. It takes some full time skills to know how to rank a GMB. The white hat way. It's local SEO and not for a part-timer. Contact me if you are interested in this service.

Google my business is not a website. It is a google property and once you master it, you can dominate any market. Real Estate is local and GMB is for local customers using mobile.

I hope I have really conveyed to you guys this window of opportunity we've got right now and it's not going to last for that long. Oh and you can rank in those local communities too!
