Have you paused to consider the 'What?' behind your business?
When I made the decision to join the gym, I walked in on day one wearing my new sneakers, new t-shirt, and absolutely no clue what to do next.
I quickly realized that I first had to clearly identify my 'what?'
Step One - The What?
Gym-goers are motivated to go to the gym for a multitude of reasons (physical fitness, building muscle, toning, strengthening, diversion from sedentary routine, weight loss, combating fatigue, overall health, etc.) What is my specific goal?
Once the specific 'What?' behind the decision to go to the gym has been identified, the gym routine can be established to create a regiment that offers direction to achieve the specific preset goal.
Likewise, my business must identify the 'What?'
Drilling down (and keeping it simple)
-What is my business/profession? I am a real estate agent
-What specifically do I do? I help clients buy and/or sell real estate
-What do I do to help clients? By listening to the client's specific goals and co-creating a personalized plan to facilitate it coming to fruition.
-What does that mean?
Listening to the client = Asking probing questions and pausing to hear the specifics of what is important to them
Specific goals = Identifying what is important now and what long term real estate goals they may have.
Co-creating a personalized plan = Together discuss the detailed plan to best meet the client's personal needs and goals. Utilize a time plan and establish needful steps in the process.
Facilitate = The nitty-gritty of how to implement the designed plan.
Coming to fruition = Aligning the goal with the plan.
