Building Up Your Online Presence as an Agent

As you start to establish yourself as an agent, you have to take several aspects into consideration. You obviously want to get your name out in your local area. However, you also want to create a website that entices people to utilize your services. Additionally, there are other aspects of your online presence you want to take into consideration, such as your social media pages.

Brand Every Page

You want to brand all of your social media pages and website. You want your website and social media pages to have similar aspects, so people can recognize all the pages belong to you. Maybe that means having a logo, saying, or other element that really summarizes who you are and what you do.

Simple, Yet Modern

When you're speaking with a web designer, you should request a site that has a simple look to it, yet looks modern. You want people to not be overwhelmed when they visit your page, but you want a look that's appealing. Keep in mind, the average homebuyer is 27 years old, so you're trying to target a generation who's used to the modern look. This particular style won't turn off people who are older or younger than this age either.

Easy to Use

You want a site that's easy to use and social media pages that are set up to sell your product. The average person only spends 10 to 20 seconds on a webpage, so you don't have long to impress people. You have a very short window of opportunity to gain a person's attention and keep it long enough to get the word out about your business.

Keep Updated

Always keep your website updated. Outdated information can be a turn off to your target audience. Once you have a website and social media pages established, you want to make sure you keep up with those pages. Try to post at least one time per week, whether that's a blog on your website and a post on your Twitter, or a photo on your Instagram. You want to keep your current and potential clients engaged and up-to-date on your business. Make sure when you post, you're writing material that's interesting but still has the potential to see yourself without being overly pushy.

Today, many people don't want to read. They'd rather watch a video and obtain the information they need about you and your services through a visual. It helps your SEO ranking and your website's ease of use when you have a video or two on your page. Posting videos on your social media is beneficial as well.

Start Marketing to Those You Know

When you create social media pages, add everyone you know. Get your name out there through your friends and family. Once they add you, you'll gain viewers through your friends and family without much hassle.
