Think Thin Thursday ~ Closed Today Due to the Flu

Real Estate Agent with Florida Supreme Realty SL514814

I'm actually the caregiver in this round and have the better half fighting through the aches and pains of the flu while trying avoid its wrath. I've had my flu shots while she hasn't and think that might be what's helping me stave off what was once thought to be inevitable.

Good morning, Kevin J. May I've never had a flu shot and have never had the flu.... I think some have a better immune system than others....some of my family members have had the shot and still DID get the flu!!

Therein lies the quandary Barbara. I started having flu shots about three years ago because I know I would not be as good at fighting it without some help.

I miss my Grandmas and my Great Grandmas I was very fortunate to have known them. Their remedies worked and that was their gift that unfortunately has been diluted with time.

Good morning, Kevin - is it the luck(likely bad) of the draw when it comes to getting the flu?  I don't know.  I am not a physician nor do I play one in movies or on television.  Be well.

I think you could pull it off with just the lab coat and a stethoscope Michael.

Having the flu is no fun at all, but isn't it also the bodies natural way of detoxifying?

Kevin J. May

Brian, I guess anything that has a potential to kill can also detoxify.

Neither one of us has ever had flu shots.  We are both very healthy and the flu stays away from us.  Glad you are taking care of the better half. A

It began with a mild sore throat and progressed to near immobility. I've come to the realization that the older I get the thinner the ice is below me. She's slightly better now. Thank You

Have alternated on flu shots, having had cancer my doctor often suggests i get a flu shot, all depends on what I read about the flu and how good this years vaccine is in relation to the strain of flu going around. Hope the better half feels better quickly.

With 5 Doctors whom I see regularly they cannot concur either Nick.

Hi Kevin- I hope your better half is on the mend. Having had the flu a few times, I'll remind you (I'm sure you know this) that even when you feel as if you're ready to get back into the swing of things, you're usually not. We do get our flu shots and so far so good. That said, we've both had colds this past week.

Stable is the word Kathy but not better yet. I do know that feeling after not abiding by it too many times. Cannot take that chance any longer.

From what I hear the vaccines this year actually match the flu strains very well (a rarity) making those shots the most effective the CDC has seen in a long while. I was wondering what sort of time frame Vicki was looking at to get better. A few more days and it's time to see the Dr.

We faithfully get our flu shots every year. Seniors should not be taking the risk of going without protection.

I hope your better half recovers quickly.

Thank you Roy. Vicki doesn't get the shot but I don't want to take the "risk". I can tell you that she did have a burst of energy yesterday but I'm beginning that cough kick in again.

Kevin J. May  This year's flu shot was great. It protected me anyway I just am just getting over a virus first (touch wood) all winter a first for me that is. I will say it was not as severe either. Could function and work just needed to nap. Feeling good as I told Carol Williams just dreading allergy season.

Feel better

You cracked me up with the "touch wood" I do that too. And allergies, our cars get covered in pollen sometimes. Coming soon!
