Things to do in Jupiter Florida!
I've lived here over 30 years and can tell you first hand that Jupiter has more to offer as a home town than other localities in the Palm Beach area. From its' pristine beaches with ample free parking, the pier open 7 days a week for fishing, waterfront dining overlooking our beautiful lighthouse and miles of intracoastal waterways to explore.
If you haven't kayaked, canoed or played on a stand up paddle board, you'll find plenty of places to rent and try out your new found hobby. As for waterfront communities in Jupiter, there are dozens of great neighborhoods ranging in price from the low $200's to over $1m. On the lower range, Riverwalk townhomes offer kayak and boat storage, a boat ramp and day docks. Jupiter Plantation also in the more affordable bracket offers the same, but closer to the ocean and with a skyline view of the Jupiter lighthouse.
Restaurants are abundant and offer a variety of local flavors. Harbourside located on the new Riverwalk is home to Calaveras, The Woods, Bravo and Tommy Bahama all with intracoastal water views. The Square Grouper, Jetty's, U-Tiki, Schooners and Guanabanas are located on or across from the Jupiter Inlet and offer spectacular scenery as you watch the boats roll through the waters.
Lighthouse tours, Loxahatchee River expeditions, Conch Boat excursions and miles of natural terrain to explore in Jonathan Dickenson State Park are more reasons to live here. I love to ride my bicycle whenever I get a chance. There are plenty of bike racks along the beach road to secure your ride while catching some rays. Jupiter prides itself on bike lanes which have reached as far north as Tequesta and down south through Palm Beach Gardens.
Abacoa and Roger Dean Stadium are must see's. The stadium hosts spring training for the St Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins. There are games throughout the year with promotions, family events and fireworks. Abacoa hosts a number of free concerts, movie nights, car shows, food truck events and bike nights in addition to The Italian Festival and Artigras which is a huge 5 day event featuring premiere artisans from all reaches of the planet.
One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is the Palm Beach Gardens Green Market located just south of PGA Boulevard on Military Trail. It runs every Sunday until 1pm from late Fall to the end of Spring. Local vendors sell fresh baked bread, produce, flowers, art, pastries, food and crafts. There's live entertainment on stage with seating. Perfect for relaxing after a lengthy bike ride from the north.
Community parks can be found about everywhere! Tennis courts, pickleball (my new favorite way to blow off steam), basketball, baseball fields, football and soccer, racquetball and volley ball. Not to mention all the great places to golf! There are 3 courses which are open to the public in Jupiter alone, and at least a dozen or more within a 20 minute drive.
Did I mention golf? In Jupiter alone there are a handful of public courses which are provide an enjoyable round of golf. Abacoa Golf Course, The Golf Club of Jupiter and Jupiter Dunes are all open to the public. If you're lucky enough to know a resident of the following, you might just get an invite you can't pass up: Loxahatchee Club, Riverbend, Jonathan's Landing and Jupiter Country Club.
There are so many reasons to explore the area, I'm sure I've only highlighted a fraction of all the wonderful things to do in this town. For more information, check out my website www.JupiterOceanHomes.com.
