The Badlands of Southern California at Fonts Point

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

Because I had researched some of the fabulous places to visit in Borrego Springs beforehand, I already had a somewhat agenda by the time we arrived. Whereas my husband's plan was to ask the park ranger for the up-to-date interesting places to go to view wildflowers. That's a good plan, but one could also miss places where there might not be an abundance of flowers yet fascinating terrain to explore.

On our way back to town from Salton Sea, I suggested we pull off the road and drive the 4 miles that typically only an SUV can do to see the Badlands of Southern California. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Photos of Fonts Point at Anza Borrega Desert State Park.

Is that an area of the park that also has wildflowers? If so, that's hard to image. In Palm Springs I used to climb up the hills in the spring and you could see flowers from close up, but not in abundance. In Palm Springs itself with all it's citrus trees, the air can be overpowering at this time of the year.

I've not ever been to that part of California, although I have flown over it and know that landscape exists.  Your pictures are amazing, Elizabeth!

Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® Yes, there are wildflowers but they are small at Fonts Point, also along the way to the attraction. Did you notice the Ocotillo, my new favorite kind of plant?
