Hella I love when I get a call and the caller says I do not want to wast your time, let me be the judge:) usually after a nice discussion we determine if the are Beverly Hills or West Los Angeles buyers, which is OK:)Endre

Endre Barath, Jr. - Like in your area, the "location" comes with a premium and not everyone is qualified or wants to pay that. Lifestyle is pretty much second.
I do think nothing beats seeing things with your own eyes; smelling the scents with your own nose, etc.

Kat Palmiotti - Unless they already know the area or have at least been here, it's a tough sell. Because it's even more beautiful than portrayed by the media, and that comes with a premium.
Good morning Hella. Seeing for yourself is essential in my view. Otherwise you are wasting your time.

Sheila Anderson - You have to be pretty trusting to buy sight unseen.
Hi Hella... I've received my share of calls with the essence of those messages, as well. And one thing I've learned to tell people, as well, is that they have to come and see for themselves.

Nina Hollander - Sometimes time is of the essence where they can't come so they have to rely on others or their instincts, so it's not uncommon here for offers sight unseen.
Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® don't ya just love the buyers who think they can buy from pictures or think in a seller's market where in my area it certainly is they can think or as you said to rely on a friends insight - No they have to make a trip to the area perhaps stay a weekend maybe a few trips
We get the same - and we respond the same as you. It's our job to help people figure out if an area - and a home - is a good fit. And yes, some folks do purchase a home sight-unseen, but most do come and take a look before they are locked into it - such as during the inspection period.
When people say I don't want to waste your time, I take them at their word, ha, ha, ha. Because I should be thanking them. Wasting my time is when they don't intend to buy. They are probably telling you the truth.
I only work with people who are ready to sell or buy because I don't have time to help the entire world. If I had little other business, maybe I'd talk to somebody who wasn't ready but with the volume I do it's best to be highly selective.
Happy Easter Hella, We all hear that, I don't want to waste your time, of course they want to.
Hella:
I have found, a number of times, that those who comment they don't want to waste my time may be, in fact, more serious than others who cannot admit they are not ready to buy, do not know what they want, or are just looking with no real intention or need to purchase.

Hi Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® I think we all hear that statement of "I don't want to waste your time".... that's a sign of fright on many levels on the part of the potential buyer.... we've even hear that from potential sellers...

Barbara Todaro - That's a good time to explain that we are there to help them. Give them time to work through their questions. I really want them to clarify their needs. And then they are grateful and would at least recommend me in the future.
