My 1st Outdoor Blog of 2019

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services

It's March 23rd and I'm blogging outdoors again. It feels good! Last year I purchased a 4' X 6' green house in hopes of getting a head start on enjoying North Dakota's late and cool Spring. It worked great and I felt it was worth the money spent even if the equipment would only last a year.

Surprise! The equipment made it through last spring and early Summer so I packed it away until yesterday and now it's back up and working great. I've equipped it with a tiny heater so now I can even use it for it's intended use, a green house, and blog as well.

As you can see we still have snow around and at night the temp is in the 20's but as I sit here now the outside temp is 50 and the greenhouse temp is 70. Life is good!

I would love to pick up a green house like that to Marte Cliff . I visited our local green house last week and it was like paradise in there.

It is a He Shed Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD , I never thought of that before. I put a couple of seedlings in there to see if my "system" works which may be a bit risky. I put a thermostat on the heater that is supposed to kick in at 30 degrees. If it doesn't work those little guys are doomed.

I'm hoping my little heater and thermostat combo does the trip Steve Higgins . We've had snow on my birthday in midmay so who knows, I may have to keep the plants in the house another month.

Bob "RealMan" Timm - I would LOVE a greenhouse to grow tomatoes and herbs.  I still have a lot of snow in my yard from the late February/ early March 2 foot of snow we had in 48 hours.  However, in those spots the snow has melted, I am seeing the daffodil bulbs I planted last fall starting to sprout!

Bob, my friend do not take this the wrong way but you are crazy:)) with 20 degree weather I would have on earmuffs, gloves and a north pole jacket on  definitely not dressed like you ... when it drops below 69 in our house I am complaining that my fingers are too cold to type:))Endre

Morning Bob.

Temps today will be in the mid 60's.  Our farmer's markets will open later this month or early April.  I'm ready for those local tomatoes.  Maybe I'll get my fill of them this year, but I wouldn't bet on it

Now, that is a really creative solution, Bob!  A few days ago, Sacramento actually had a couple of days that reached into the mid 70s.  However, we have backed off a bit, and daytime highs are in the 60s.

Lynnea Miller seeing those bulbs push out is such a joy. I am seeing some green in the garden boxes next to the house and I'm amazed after such a harsh winter.

I get it Endre Barath, Jr. . The last time I was in FL the temp was around 70 and all the locals were dressed as you described. I was in shorts and a tank-top.

Myrl Jeffcoat we backed off big time today with a predicted high of 28 degrees. I brought the few plants I had out there back into the house for today or more.

I do love the outdoors Wayne Martin and it's hard to enjoy it when you have to get so bundled up. This is an easy work around.
