One of the BEST parts of eating a Whole Food Plant Based diet or WFPB for short is getting to eat dessert and STILL lose weight. I've spent decades on any number of diets - keto, counting calories, weight watchers - and dessert was always off limits. Since finding this diet, I've been able to lose 15 pounds in 3 months - a feat I had not been able to do in almost 4 years even though I was trying. I was even exercising like crazy - training for half marathons and STILL couldn't seem to lose weight and keep it off.
I've read all of Dr. Fuhrman's books and mostly describe myself as a Nutritarian - someone who eats a 90% whole food plant based diet. Vegetables, fruit, grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds are now my main course all day long. And you would be surprised about how DELICOUS the desserts are using these ingredients! Even non-vegans love them!

I think the fact that I can eat dessert EVERY SINGLE DAY is the main factor I've been able to HAPPILY stick to this diet. Of course, the easy weight loss has helped keep me motivated too!
The great thing about the Eat to Live diet is that I'm improving my health. My cholesterol is now 144! And I haven't been perfect. I've still had cheese every now and then although my goal is to be completely vegan by the end of the year.
