Perpetual Motion is Impossible?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Pareto Realty TN #251071

“Perpetual motion is motion of bodies that continues indefinitely. A perpetual motion machine is a hypothetical machine that can do work indefinitely without an energy source. This kind of machine is impossible, as it would violate the first or second law of thermodynamics. (wiki)”

I beg to differ . . . When it comes to generosity, the source IS the means.

The results of Generosity are multi-faceted – Gratitude, graciousness, good will . . . and infinitely available.

What’s “impossible” is the ability to measure the impact of generous energy/acts.

That which we cannot measure, we humans often relegate to the archives as being “impossible” because we are compelled to be “reasonable” . . . to stay between the lines . . . not to cross the boundaries of possibilities.

I believe an act of generosity sets off a continuous series of “events” that emanate in perpetuity.

Just because we cannot see the effects beyond our field of perception, doesn’t mean they end.

Like a pebble in a pond.

Concentric circles with this ONE common center which is a single generous act.

Just imagine the potential

I invite you to participate in an experiment with me. Let’s see what happens when we up our game of generosity. This isn’t a contest. It’s merely being more intentional about our generosity.

Look for opportunities and take appropriate action.

We all benefit in perpetuity!

There are certainly a lot of examples where motion seems perpetual in the universe.  The orbits of planets and celestial bodies around the sun.  Our own moon around us, etc.  Perhaps, it is because we are existing in a millisecond of time that does not contemplate the end of such things.  However, I like your idea about applying perpetual motion to generosity.  I have been a participate in a fast food drive through which paid it forward for the driver behind.  And, loved how long it actually went on!

Sometimes all it takes is giving someone a smile, always good to see a face light up and they smile back. Like your post and the encouragement, call to action to work on our generosity.

Barry, I am here thanks to our friend Kathy Streib  highlighting your post and indeed one can never be too generous... I have to smile since growing up my parents always instilled generosity... every time I asked why they gave to others when we did not have everything... my parents always stated they needed it more and we are in a position to give...ironically no matter how little or lot we had....Endre
