Yesterday I traveled to Rugby North Dakota for a Notary assignment. Rugby is 60 miles from Minot North Dakota and just in case you were unaware Rugby is the geographical center of North America.
It was a beautiful drive and it was fun to see the state of affairs (early spring) along the way.
Much of the way showed very little in the way of signs of spring with the exception of a couple of unfortunate animals who had become road kill over the winter.
Even the Mouse (Souris) River had not busted out of the ice as it has in Minot.
Every time I make this drive there is something unusual I enjoy seeing along the way.
Just a few miles to the West of Rugby someone sometime ago set up several little cabins and painted them bright colors. For what purpose I have no clue. They are close to the highway and between them and the highway is a "kinda-sorta" slew. Was it a joke? Was it a motel in some year gone by? Your guess is as good as mine.
Each of us have our own oddities. They become part of our identity. Sometimes those oddities endear us to others... sometimes they lead to divorce. The same thing can be said of the oddities that make our personalities stand out in business. I wish everyone loved me as a Real Estate professional but lets get real, I rub some people the wrong way.
New agents need to learn that not everyone is going to like you... so don't knock yourself out trying. Be yourself and be glad some people like you. Do business with them. If no one likes you... you may need to look for another way to support yourself or at least find a therapist to help you.
