Hurricane Michael - Shame on DiTech Financial!

By

Over the next few weeks/months I'll be posting my experiences resulting from Hurricane Michael.

Let's start off with DiTech Financial - this lender owns the mortgage on my primary home.

My home was significantly damaged during the Hurricane in October 16, 2018 and I filed a claim with my insurance company within 30 days of the Hurricane who paid out about half ($70k) of what I claiming so far.

The check was made out to myself and DiTech funding. DiTech told me I have to send them my endorsed check and they will endorse it and send me the funds to repair my home.

It is now March 29, 2019 and as of the writing of this post, DiTech has sent me less than $15k!

When I ask them where my money is they continually lie to me telling me "The check is in the mail" - oh, you mean that check that I've never received?

Their latest lie is that my loan is a government backed loan and all repairs must be approved by Fannie Mae! Why is this a lie? Because I do NOT have a government backed loan!

I have contacted the Attorney General of the State of Florida and submitted a complaint that DiTech is not doing business in "good faith" and are holding my funds for repairs to my home

If you are considering using DiTech Financial to finance your home purchase, I suggest you reconsider and find a more trustworthy lender!

I'll post more on this soon.

In the mean time, here are a few pictures before and after of my primary home and property.

Good morning Jennifer. Keep the pressure on the Attorney General and you will get results but you have to keep the pressure on! If they assign it to an investigator, DiTech will chirp like a bird. Good luck! Enjoy your day!

Living through that storm was horrific enough, Jennifer (as your pictures attest). Having now to fight for your money (which you paid for through your premiums) is like rubbing salt into the wound. Let us know how this all finally gets resolved.

Here we would go to the state banking commission...I would call every  government  representative I could find as well...and do you have a tv station that investigates consumer issues Jennifer Mackay ?  It's amazing what media coverage does to bad companies...they mooove much more quickly!
