The one thing in this business that I've know I needed to do, but simply have NOT done before now is video featuring me. I have done home videos with me behind the camera, but I just haven't gotten in front of the camera. I have forever in family photo taking been the one holding the camera, not in many of the photos.
But I know that video is more and more important for truly showcasing properties and branding myself and my company as well. So I've finally stepped outside of my comfort zone and gotten on the other side doing my first "selfie" on the fly video on one of my listings.
It was on my phone and I know I have a LOT of work to do to master this new task I've given myself, but I'm really going to force myself to get out there and do it. Video is indexed well by Google and people scrolling through Facebook tend to stop and watch video more than clicking on additional photos and certainly more than noticing a wall of words.
A week after I'd posted the video on my Facebook business page I checked and it indeed had views and while only 14% of the people who watched continued through the entire video, someone from that 14% might be "the" buyer looking for acreage.
I should have and didn't follow up with a click through to to my website for more information link in the text of the post... learning curve for video. So maybe I'm late to this arty, but I'm getting there.
Today I also sat down and took a look at getting it loaded from my phone directly to youtube via the app as opposed to the steps of emailing it to my computer and then loading it. So look for more video from me in the future... because it didn't kill me.
