Bird of Paradise: the plant

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties 01238708

I have always loved "bird of paradise" the plant. It is such an exotic flower that I had a love affair with it. Mostly grows in warmer climates and that probably caused the attraction. So when we came to California I was a bit surprised that often you could see them growing as almost like a weed along the highways and roads.

Much to my excitement when we bought our home there were two Bird of Paradise bushes in the back yard. Well with that said now Diane keeps telling the Gardner's to make sure they trim  the bushes, otherwise they would be out of control growing.

Anyway I always love the flowers, hope you like them too. Now keep in mind one of the benefits of owning your own home, you get to decide what you do in your backyard and no one outside of your other half will dictate what you can and what you can not do.

So if you are looking to have control of your back yard, it is time to buy your home. Feel free to reach out to me for a free and confidential consultation!

These are beautiful plants, Endre, and I've also always liked them. Unfortunately, we don't see that many of them here.

Hi Endre - I have not seen that plant yet.  Now I have seen some new plants at my Florida home and I am still trying to figure out their growth cycle and whether they need help.  Problem is I am not there long enough at a time to monitor.  I will ask about the bird of paradise.  It would be a nice addition.

Hello Endre - birds of paradise can be a bit unweilding if uncontrolled but when properly showcased the beauty is simple and magnificent.

Endre,

They are beautiful.  I had a line of pots with birds of paradise on one side of our pool wall in Los Angeles.  We left them behind when we sold our home, and I knew they would not fare well in Napa.  A

Endre I also love that plant, to bad the weather is not conducive to growing them around here.

Endre Barath, Jr.  So appropriately named as it does look like a bird. Grows wild huh? How lucky are you in Ca. to have such gorgeous flowers growing. If you are a homeowner can enjoy them in your own back yard.

Hi Endre:

They are a favorite of mine as well. It was cool to come to Cali and see them all over, after seeing them only in flower arrangements back East. We have a bunch of them in our yard - love how they bloom twice per year, and for a while, too!

The giant bird of paradise are pretty cool, too, but not as colorful!
