Your Million Dollar Year Day 14 Earn your Badges. Real estate is a business where you get paid nothing until you have completed, COMPLETED, something. Every day you make your living helping people, some of them are clients, most of them are prospects you hope to be clients. There are no badges in real estate, well that isn't entirely true, there are badges. Badges that signify the areas of further real estate study that are interesting or significant to you. My extra badges include Luxury and GREEN homes. What I mean by no badges is that there is the close or not, that is all. That is when you receive some compensation for the time, information, insight, and all the activities that are involved with the purchase or sale of a residential property.
According to my goals written 15 days ago I was hoping to have secured 2 new listings with the plan being 4 a month. I need to make adjustments, spend more time, focus better, something because there is no badge for trying, only for doing. And in so doing, if I don't achieve the goals does not mean the goals are bad, it means my execution of the tasks towards achieving those goals is somehow disconnected from my stated purpose. This is a business problem that often slides over into an emotional or mindset problem.
I do know when I make my calls, follow up on all my leads, get into houses and talk to their owners I have had a good day. When I string good days together, good things happen. I try to focus on the good things I need to have happen by slogging through the things I don't particularly like (cold call phone calls). Doing the hard things first, the things you like least, for me this is an advantage. I know early in my day if I am going to succeed with the day or not. If I succeed with the day today I know I am on my way to Your Million Dollar Year Day 14 Earning my Badges.
