Tulips in Texas is an early spring treat. Nobody plants tulips better than Pilot Point Farms in Denton. Tulips rarely repeat blooms and how long they last depend on the weather. That is why I recommend getting to Pilot Point Farms the sooner the better. Their tulips provide a spectrum of colors, shapes, sizes, and different variations that can not be purchased through local nurseries. The secret is Holland Bulbs. The owners go there every year, where they were born and raised to get new bulbs so every year you will see something different.

What makes climate conditions favorable in Texas is the limiting factor of deep-freezing weather that will freeze the soil. Sunshine is steady and rains are just enough to get blooms started. Even with the recent hail storm, these Tulips succeeded in blooming. I was lucky to get there at the right time. I can't imagine a world without Tulips and other spring flowers.

Planting a healthy garden gives me joy but I can't compete with Pilot Point Farms! They have mastered the techniques, perhaps it's because it is in their blood or that they think like a Tulip! All I know for sure is that the owners of Pilot Point Farms offer a variety of gorgeous Tulip's without airfare to the Netherlands.

Myrl Jeffcoat - For me, it was love at first sight! What Pilot Point Farms has to offer is no plain Jane Tulips. They certainly brightened up my day and I am pleased to know that posting just a few samples here on ActiveRain received such positivity.

Thank you, so much for the Feature in Photos Group! May your day be bright and cheery!

Leif Price - Piles and piles of white on top of white snow can get monotonous. I sure hope Oregon will be filled with an assortment of colorful blooms to the top of mountain tops and stretch from coast to bordering states very soon.

I'm glad to know I brightened your day!

Nina Hollander - Pilot Point Farms allows the general public to pull and pick their own Tulips right out of the ground and they provide nice baskets for the gathering. I have to admit, I was awestruck by so many to choose from! In the beginning, I thought three would be nice. But I couldn't stop and I have no regrets! As my vase is full, they are still in bloom!!!

Nina Hollander - A funny thing happened to me while tiptoeing through the Tulips. I seemed to be very attracted to ones that reminded me of lollipops, peppermint stripes, cherries, dots, and even though I never saw one, I was even thinking of some of those long stem Tulips as green licorice sticks!

George Souto - All these are Holland bulbs. They had a sign with names for each set of Tulips but I didn't take photos of them. The majority of Tulips were new to me too!

Patricia, it would be beautiful to have a few of those tulips adorn a front yard of a home. We had some of those varieties in our yard when I was growing up, and had to take out the bulbs after the blooming season, and plant them again next year. One of the rituals of spring.
