Sondra, thank you for participating and I had no idea, wow did you know that Jeff Dowler, CRS  used to have an art gallery in Cambridge, MA before he relocated to CA?

Endre, is he still into art? (I guess I should jump to his page and ask him directly!)

Sondra Meyer:

I didn't.  The  bonus about your challenge is that I'm getting to learn who some of our other art lovers are.   Thank you!!!!

Incidentally, Sondra, I would LOVE to see your art in person. I watch documentaries on the old West every chance I get!

It would be great to have you visit.

Granted, at the exact moment I'm feeling like my art it is kind of picked out.    I didn't expect the art part of the business to do as well as it has.

Hi Sheile.   Thank you.   It's been fun yet added a few more time management issues.

I hope that you have an amazing April

Great post Sondra Meyer: . I too love art and it is often the subject of my radio broadcast. For the last two weeks my interviews have been with one of Minot State Universities Art Directors and if you are interested they are always posted right here. The one I think you may enjoy most is with North Dakota's most famous Western artist Walter Piehl and HERE IT IS.

Hi Sondra:

What a fun post and a great entry for Endre Barath, Jr. 's Challenge.

What a neat idea to merge your passion for real estate with art, books and more. As Endre mentioned my wife and I had a gallery in Cambridge, MA (across the river from Boston) for 3 years before moving to SoCal. I was also in real estate at the time but kept the businesses separate.

I find that I can't help looking at art work when showing homes, and we still collect, but have slacked off a bit because we have no room for anything more!!

Jeff

Sondra Meyer:

Thanks Jeff!

How cool that you had a gallery also.

Lack of space can create problems when collecting.

Yet, starting a gallery gives me more space AND allows me to justify shopping and making more purchases.

I hope that you have a great week.

Hi Sondra Meyer:

We had a great time getting to know lots of different artists, deciding who to feature and what to sell, setting up the exhibitions, doing the marketing/PR and the website, and meeting lots of people.

It was not our own collection, but I admit we bought a few for ourselves. We have a loft in our house where we store probably 60 paintings, with another dozen in a closet.

We switch stuff around from time to time which is always fun. We had a larger house when we first moved here, and back in Boston had a beach house which allowed us to hang so much more.

We will have to start getting rid of some things since we know our kids likely don't want most of it, and some pieces are things that just don't excite us anymore.

You are welcome.  "Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys" is one of my all time favorite songs.  So, I'm really glad you enjoyed.

Fun post. I prefer the painting of the cowoby to book smart.

Sondra Meyer:

Thanks Dale.   Book Smart is fun for a bit.  Yet, I don't think I would want to look at him on a regular basis.  P.S - now that the weather is warming up, we need to get out and take some pictures soon.  I hear that Rainbow Falls will officially re-open this weekend.    That is one place close by that I have not photographed yet.
