Cafe Marigold in Winterville GA features free WI FI, great coffee & desserts, the perfect real estate meet up place near AthensOn a recent Saturday I was driving from East Athens down Cherokee Road and almost did a u turn in the road when for the first time, I spotted "Winterville, Georgia's First Coffee Shop & Cafe" - the Cafe Marigold!

I was even more delighted when (after safely navigating a turnaround) I discovered owners Bubba & Susan Cowart running this beauty!  Interior of the Marigold Cafe in Winterville

Bubba & Susan are long-term area residents and are providing a much needed break from reality in their adorable new cafe, opened in January 2008.

The coffee is wonderful and Susan's homemade deserts are fabulous - strawberry cake HIGHLY recommended (sorry, I ate it before thinking about photographing it)! Cafe Marigold is open Tuesday though Saturdays with a variety of soups, salad, sandwiches and more.  They have super indoor and patio seating available and are a WI-FI Hot Spot!

Hey Michelle -- this place looks really comfortable. Is that a quilt hanging on the wall? Nice colors.

C Tann-Starr, thanks for stopping by.  The quilt on the wall looks great and the atmosphere is very comfortable.  Most importantly though, I feel the strawberry cake calling my name every time I drive by!  :)

i love everything on this site :) the pictures describe this place perfectly. I have never had such great homemade foods in my life: the cakes, the cookies, the soups, the sandwhiches: EVERYTHING.

I also love working there :)

The strawberry cake is definitly a  "must" for anyone who hasn't tried it!    Atmosphere is small town, quaint, friendly, and family oriented.  It's wonderful place to chat with friends or meet with business associates.   The food is absolutely divine!   Susan, Bubba, Donna, Pops, Lisa, Kristin, and the other staff always greet you with a big smile and a very warm welcome.  Do drop in, have a bite and enjoy yourself.
