Opening in Chandler: Culinary Dropout adds yet another option in downtown Gilbert

The new 25,000-square-foot venue is on the east side of Gilbert Road, across the road from Barrio Queen and north of OHSO Brewery

The 1st Culinary Dropout opened in Scottsdale in January 2010. Other locations can be found in Tempe, Phoenix, Tucson, and Austin, Texas.

It’s Fox Restaurant Concepts’ 2nd investment into downtown Gilbert. Their burger-and-beer concept Zinburger opened in Downtown Gilbert 2014.

Gilbert and Chandler are experiencing tremendous growth, and with so many great bar & grills and restaurants as neighbors, it is another great Reason To Buy A Home In Chandler.

Like other Yard locations, the newest one has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as 2 private dining rooms. The ‘‘Yard’’ area offers backyard-style games like cornhole, ping-pong and foosball to metion a few.

Music, including live performances several nights per week, is another great Reason To Buy A Home In Chandler. The decor is strictly “rock ’n’ roll” themed, including a full wall of ‘rock song’ lyrics.

The menu is mostly classic American dishes that start with small ‘‘snacks’’ like Korean red chile cauliflower ($4) and cheddar pork cracklings ($4) and shareable appetizers like Charcuterie Boards and provolone fondue ($12)

Salads include aptly named Cheap (but delicious) House Salad with buttermilk ranch ($6). Burgers and sandwiches range from an Italian grinder ($12) to a shaved prime rib dip ($17), also delicious!

Entrees include sweet corn raviolis ($15), fried chicken and biscuit with honey drizzle ($17.50), and a 36-hour pork rack of ribs with jalapeno molasses ($24), Emmmm!

Brunch is also served on weekends, call for hours

Specialty cocktails are organized into several distinct categories: 6 ‘‘light-and-easy’’ sippers, 5 ‘‘two-handed shandies,’’ 4 ‘‘copper-less mules,’’ and 5 ‘‘Culinary Dropouts.’’ We plan to come back often to try them all. They make for 1 more great Reason To Buy A Home In Chandler.
