Your Million Dollar Year Day 18 Put in a Happy Thought. Driving home last night after completing a very good day of real estate activity I was focused on what didn't get done and why I couldn't do it and it was making me miserable. I was going round and round and getting deeper and deeper. I could feel it's weight. In a flash another thought came to me. I got a call back from 2 expired and canceled people I called and left messages with. I also was not hung up on and was able to preview 4 houses. That is a good day. Why am I allowing my thoughts take me to another place?
An Agents life is filled with countless rejections in a day and it can wear on you. You can easily focus on what is not working without realizing some people are letting you in and listening to your message. Focus on what you are doing right and allow yourself to feel a certain amount of joy. The joy is what we want, go find it even in the brambles and deep shade. It is not about a pollyanna type thinking, that doesn't work.
Positive thinking only helps when you are taking positive actions and paying attention. Sitting at your desk and feeling good about yourself will never get you that next listing. You need to get things done. The positive thoughts should kick in at the end of the day when you are going over what has been accomplished so you can feel good about it. That assessment puts a book mark in your activity and will allow you to open the book tomorrow and get right back to work.
