Taking The Fifth Dimension

Up Up And Away A Pondering

Taking The Fifth Dimension

Mixing things up.  So to speak.  Taking the fifth.   The Fifth Dimension.  The mind wanders.  And yes it certainly meanders.

I have no evidence that any members of the award-winning quintet The Fifth Dimension ever chose to invoke the fifth amendment.  I mean even mentioning it could be subject to cries of "fake news" and the like.  I prefer not to be aligned with anything like that.  That's one less bell I need to answer.

A pondering can lead down a rather circuitous path - meandering as I have said in the past.  Wandering and wondering too.  Sometimes it is one where music can be heard.  Or just a thought.  An occurence.  Something from a long time ago.  To become immersed.  To get lost.  At least temporarily.

The Twilight Zone.  Rod Serling welcomes you to another world.  Another time.  A new dimension.  Is it the fifth?   Either way, it is just for a visit.  Time for reality.

Come back.  Be aware.  Up.  Up.  And Away.

As an Aquarian, I most remember The Age of Aquarius by the Fifth Dimension, but also appreciated Up Up and Away.  Won a grammy too, as I recall.  But back to the Age of Aquarius, these lyrics sum up the dimension I'd love to visit.

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
Age of Aquarius...

Michael,

We actually met the Fifth Dimension Group backstage after their performance.  One of the men sang the clown song from Pagliaci, the opera.  This was the signature song of Pavarotti, and he did a great job...See where you have my mind going!

As for presidential visits highjacking LA, I have always hated them.  The worst was when Clinton was visiting the Broads (Kauffman & Broad) who lived on the street above our home.  We could not leave the house, there were 150 motorcycle  cops, 5 limos, 5 SUV's, it took over a half an hour for the whole parade to leave...the same happened when Obama was here and I had an early morning appointment in Beverly Hills.  Luckily I got there on time, and zig and zagging through streets I knew...And the City of LA/Beverly Hills pay for this...a waste of our dollars!  LOL

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

When I first started reading your blog, my immediate thought was The Twilight Zone, and you did not disappoint, Michael. Nice to see you got there.

Michael - I'm convinced you are becoming the poet that doesn't know it!  For some folks it would take a fifth (of whiskey) to come up with similar thoughts, but their thoughts would likely be far more disjointed than your's.

Endre Barath, Jr. - I can't recall hearing The Fifth Dimension on KUSC.  I could be wrong - it's been known to happen. Alot.

James Dray - is it gone yet?  I slipped two songs into this post but one was obviously a bigger hit.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS  - and a smile is a nice 'result' to any occasion if you ask me

Sheila Anderson - I wasn't a diehard Twilight Zone fan but remember watching some fairly memorable episodes in my childhood.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 - real life provides enough horror/fright moments for me without having to become addicted to some of the shows but some were less frightening and more scary in a different way. Do you know what I mean?

Nina Hollander - much more pleasing to remember than some Twilight Zone eipisodes.

Brian England - why thank you.  Nice of you to say.

Roy Kelley - I hope this has been the start of a great weekend.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - they had quite a few memorable hits over the years.  Age of Aquarius was definitely one of them for many reasons.

Alexandra Ron and Alexandra Seigel - just one of the "percs" of living in California.  The Fifth Dimension had a range that made them stand out.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty - probably a wise decision.

Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Realtor Top 1% - It is one of my goals not to disappoint you.

Myrl Jeffcoat - thank you for that compliment but I am truly not worthy.  And despite some wondering by others no adult beverages passed my lips in writing this post.  LOL

Endre Barath, Jr. - that comment makes you a contender for a composer worthy of many classical works.

Michael Jacobs - Meandering. It takes us on many twists and turns. Twilight Zone. I recall being glued to it. Couldn't take my eyes off the TV as a kid. Wondering? Thoughts wandering? Is it true? Could something like this really happen?

Fast forward - Fake News! Really? what is that? As Elvis said, we are all shook up!
