New Home Security System Offers AI and Real Security Guards
After doing some further research I stumpled upon Deep Sentinel. At first I am thinking ok the name sounds like Skynet's evil brother from the Terminator or something form the future. The word sentinel means a soldier or guard whose job is to stand and keep watch. I am thinking this is a great hybrid solution. Meaning combining technology like Nest had with Human intervention. When Nest first came out, I thought it was the best in tech home security until it got hacked.
With each new technology/ invention it hopes to fix the last. So Deep Sentinel claims by having human intervention will fix home security for good. At a subscription cost of course which makes sense to have the 24/7 live security guards when they need to intervene on your behalf.
The newest in proactive home security technology is here.
Backed by Jeff Bezos and Redfin co-founder David Selinger, Deep Sentinel Smart Home Surveillance System is looking to provide a better solution to home security systems.
The basic system includes three wireless 1080p full HD cameras with night vision and PIR motion sensing features, a smart hub that connects to all of them and gives you the ability to check in on what they’re seeing.
95% of the filtering is done with the Artificial Intelligence in the camera detecting intruders. The other 5% is human verification. No more wiring! Each security camera has a battery, comes with a 104 decibel loudspeaker and sirens. So no more drilling holes in the attic to get these cameras routed with wiring. Batteries last up to nine months.
This Camera Can YELL at Criminals
Why Deep Sentinel?
Deep Sentinel is the only home security system that offers live human surveillance guards combined with artificial intelligence that watch your home 24/7. Now you can stop criminals before they reach your front door. For me it looks to be 1/3 cheaper then using ADT and Nest. If you are serious about home security and don't want to just record people stealing your mail and alarm going off with a false alarm, consider Deep Sentinel.
When Deep Sentiment is protecting your home it's important to know that within seconds of a security agent seeing anything suspicious that agent has several things at their disposal that they can do. The first thing they can do is they can have a two-way conversation. They can ask someone who they are, what they're doing or tell them to leave. The second thing they could do is they could call you the homeowner. They could tell you what's going on your property and ask if that's okay.
Finally if they need to if it's serious they can call your local police department, tell them exactly what's going on with descriptions of the people involved. So Deep Sentinel can do all of this 24/7. No other camera vendor can provide this level of service. Not Ring camera, not Nest and not even ADT.
Passive Home Security System Problems
Companies like ADT, Vivint, Xfinity, and SimpliSafe provide passive monitoring - alerting you or the police several minutes after a break-in has already happened. And because those alarms are set off by sensors, their monitoring center cannot physically see what is happening. These events cannot be verified as a crime in progress, making it a very low priority for police.
For many homeowners a pooch barking at every mail, pizza delivery does the job. Some prefer motion activated lighting. My current home security consists of a combination of ADT with a Nest Camera app. Almost 26 million Americans (or about 8% of the US population) say they've had a package stolen from a porch or doorstep during the holidays, according to a 2017 survey. Also on average most security system contacts law enforcement within 8 minutes. A lot can happen in 8 minutes time.
My smartphone is kind of like the barking dog when I am away. The Nest app on my phone notifies me when the mail man comes or I get a packaged delivery instantly too. I get the notifications alright ( over 100 daily ) and brush them off. Just like my email, news, severe weather and social notification alerts on my smartphone. It's become part of life I guess. But what about when a real threat occurs? Will I be ready to react? If I get too many alerts from my phone I might be prone to ignore the actual threat or break in.
With ADT it has been a great company throughout the years with some exceptions. Several false alarms going off for the wrong reasons has put a burden on emergency resources nationwide. Every single window and door jam has sensors installed. Chimes and sensors wear out and technicians trying to come out and upsell constanlty. If there is a break in like glass gets shattered ADT gets notified. The ADT company calls and a Police officer shows up if I don't confirm with ADT my pin code.
Both of these security measures above are passive. In other words they get recorded and you get notified. The home intrusion happens at that given time and you have a recording. You can pursue the intruder after the fact. What if you could stop the intruder or package thief before it happens? A solution that can look and predict behavior directly available to the consumer. One that even Jeff Bezos would invest in.
If you are like me you know it pays to be proactive versus passive when it comes to your most valuable things. Kind of like when you see some paint fading on your home, you don 't wait until it starts peeling and damaging the surface, you do something about it. Repaint it with better paint, primer or maybe use a newer material which doesn't require painting at all.
At the heart of Seep Sentinel is the Artificial Intelligence Hub.Inside of this hub is a very special chip called a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.
With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 does all of the processing for determining is this a real event or is it not a real event. This means you don't get alerts every time the wind blows or a dog runs across your yard. You have full control over this being a security system.
Because Deep Sentinel is a direct consumer home security solution, the price point is $49 per month plus hub/ camera cost. To learn more about Deep Sentinel home security systems click here.
