Disney's Animal Kingdom is probably our family's second favorite park, after the Magic Kingdom. We like the fact that it had shade and feels a little more relaxed, and definitely more "natural" than the other parks. As my husband Rob says, "It feels the least like a theme park."
Another thing we like about Animal Kingdom is its restaurants. If you're going to Animal Kingdom, make sure that you visit at least one of these:
Tusker House
Tusker House is character buffet located in the Africa section of the park, near Kilimjaro Safari. You'll get to meet both Donald and Daisy Duck, plus Mickey Mouse and Goofy.
Some people (like me) say that Tusker House is a better alternative to the very popular Chef Mickey's, which is located in Disney's Contemporary resort. Tusker House is less noisy, has better theming, and much better food. The breakfast in particular is amazing, although the lunch and dinner menu is quite good too. We enjoyed the Java Juice, Banana bread pudding, and Basmata Rice and Curry Chicken.
And don't let the fact that Tusker House is in Africa scare you off. They have plenty of food for "non-adventurous eaters" as well, like fruit salad, scrambled eggs, and Mickey waffles.

Flame Tree BBQ
Unlike Tusker House, Flame Tree BBQ -- located in Discovery Island -- is a counter service restaurant, meaning you don't need a reservation. It also has the option of mobile ordering, which means that if you plan ahead, you don't even need to stand in line.
Flame Tree only has outdoor seating, which at first may sound awful, but it's wonderful. This is one of the most peaceful places to eat in Disney World. There are plenty of seats, the area is shaded, there are birds to keep you company, and you get a great view of both the lake and Expedition Everest.
The food, of course, is fantastic. The St. Louis Ribs are my favorite, and the Sampler Platter is a great choice if you can't decide. (It will easily provide a full meal for two people.)
Satu'li Canteen
Located in World of Pandora, this is a relatively new counter service restaurant that everyone is raving about.
The big crowd pleaser is the "Create Your Own Bowl," which is just what it sounds like. You choose a protein (shrimp, tofu, beef, or chicken), a base like quinoa and vegetable salad, red and sweet potato hash, rice, or noodles, rice or noodles, and one of three different sauces. Not only does this give you almost endless creative options, but they all give you a healthy, filling meal. And they're delicious!

Tiffins
I've never been to Tiffins, but thought I should include it since I've heard good things about it.
Tiffins is a Signature Restuarant, which means that it uses 2 table service credits if you're on the Disney Dining Plan. They only serve lunch and dinner.
Their menu offers items like Marinated Grilled Octopus, Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, and Braised Lamb Shank. They have several desserts, including Whipped Cheesecake, Passion Fruit, Tapioca Creme, and Guava Mousse.
I hope this article has helped you make some good dining choices for your next trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom!
