UPDATE: SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket launch Wednesday April 10, 2019 was scrubbed

UPDATE: SpaceX has SCRUBBED tonight's launch of the Falcon Heavy due to winds. The next attempt could be tomorrow.

SpaceX will launch the Falcon Heavy rocket today, Wednesday, April 10, 2019 after delaying it for one day due to weather conditions yesterday. This will be the second launch of the Falcon Heavy.

The rocket will launch from Kennedy Space Center launch pad 39A.

Liftoff is scheduled for 6:36pm but the launch window runs until 8:32pm.

About eight minutes after liftoff, two of the three boosters will land at Cape Canaveral and the third will attempt a landing on the drone ship “Of course I still love you” in the Atlantic Ocean.

Be prepared to hear the sonic booms from the boosters landing at Cape Canaveral.

At this time, there is expected to be an 80% chance of good weather at launch time.

If the launch is scrubbed due to weather or technical issues, the launch will move to Thursday when an 90% chance of good weather is expected.

Plan to arrive early to miss the traffic and the crowds so you can find a great viewing spot. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the launch!

Diana,

Many people like seeing those launches, and sometimes we can see the one from Vanderberg Air Force Base from the beach.  Enjoy!  A

Alexandra, I think everyone enjoys the launches...after all, it is history in the making. The Falcon Heavy launches are special so I am really looking forward to this one.

You will have to post pictures of the launches from Vandenberg...I did not realize you were that close! Diana

It's amazing how far Elon Musk and his Team at SpaceX have come in such a short amount of time. I love the launches and watching the booster rockets stick the landing every time. What was once groundbreaking has now become the new normal.

Debe, It is such an exciting time here on the Space Coast! We are SO close to returning to manned space flight that you can just feel the excitement in the air. When the Falcon Heavy boosters land at CCAFS, we hear the sonic booms, similar to what we heard when the shuttles landed at KSC.  Hoping the weather cooperates tomorrow!

We can actually watch the launches from our driveway and when I'm out showing property, if there is a launch we watch from wherever we are. I have friends in Boyton and Boca and they look forward to seeing the launches from that far away! The night launches are more visible for them and are always a special treat.

Myrl, I hope you do! They are a sight to see and it's an experience you will never forget. This is expected to be a busy year for launches so maybe you'll be able to come see one.

Talk about heavy winds we had them here for the past three days... pretty scary stuff... your post reminded me of my days when I was in Airborne School and if the wind was over a certain speed they would not let us jump for safety reasons...Endre

Endre, I had no idea about the heavy winds in your area...have been busy keeping up with the rocket launch.  :)) Hope they have subsided by now. I can understand the wind restrictions when you were in Airborne School, safety first...very much like with the rocket. Diana

Diana Zaccaro this isn't surprises me as we're having unusually high winds as well.  Did you see the photos of the black hole they were finally able to get?  That is very cool stuff!

I did see the photos, Anna, and they were very cool indeed! I wonder what's up with high winds on both sides of the country?
