Glenmore Students in grades 10-12 attend Kelowna Secondary School on Raymer Ave (off of K.L.O. Road).  French Immersion students, however, attend K.L.O. Middle School for grades 7-9 then Kelowna Secondary School through graduation.

 

Glenmore - Location

Historic Glenmore literally comprises the great valley.  Its location begins near the Kelowna International Airport, which runs along the north side of Highway 97 all the way to Kelowna’s downtown.  It is located east of Gordon Road, west of Spall and Dilworth Mountain and includes the St. Andrews Drive Area, High Road Area, and Mount Royal and Clifton Road Developments.

The diverse neighbourhood is divided into two regions: Glenmore and North Glenmore.  Each region is connected to Lake Okanagan and Highway 97. Thus, residents and tourists are accorded not only spectacular views but also convenient access and desired low traffic.  It only takes five to ten minutes to drive to Downtown Kelowna, five minutes to Orchard Park Mall, fifteen minutes to Kelowna General Hospital, and twenty minutes to Kelowna Airport.

  

Glenmore - Demographics

Glenmore is not an overpopulated area like a busy city. It is an ideal place for couples who want to raise a family and for individuals who prefer an uncrowded locale.  The May 2016 Census showed that Kelowna City had a population of 151,957, representing a percentage change of 8.4% from 2011. The percentage of the population aged 65 and over in Kelowna was 19.1% while the percentage of the working-age population (15 to 64) was 66.5% and the percentage of children aged 0 to 14 was 14.4%. Glenmore specifically has a population of close to 30,000 based on the survey done in 2016.

 

Glenmore - Amenities

A multitude of exciting activities for families abounds in Glenmore’s modern facilities.

Knox Mountain Park is considered among the most important and well-known natural parks in the Kelowna area. Glenmore Recreation Park provides high activity sports fields, recreation and community facilities where time can be spent playing, walking, biking, and more. Well-groomed picnic areas, playfields, skateboard parks, playgrounds and gardens are amazing places to build a wonderful friendship with residents in the community.  

Glenmore’s Golf and Country Clubs are the envy of many.  The Quail Course has become an Okanagan Valley favorite due to its magnificent par 72, 18-hole championship course with unique and dramatic elevation changes and panoramic views.  The lovely Kelowna Golf and Country Club, on the other hand, is a semi-private club that is distinctive for its towering ponderosa pines and careful grooming that make playing golf an unforgettable experience.
