Newsletters are Not...Same Copy Fits All....

. If you have subscribed to our blog for a while, you know that part of our marketing is "old school" snail mail newsletters that are sent in purple envelopeenvelopes once a month. There are several different versions of the newsletter that go to differnt target markets...and because the audience is different...the copy is as well.

   The copy format is that we use a quote at the top of the page...gratitude to Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS Will Hamm  and others who unknowingly but helpfully contribute to this part of our monthly communications.

   The copy includes a variety of categories with a paragraph and illustration paired with it.  The categories for the version sent to past, newsletterpresent and potential clients include general topics such as energy saving ideas, new home care products, trends in decorating, maintenance tips, housing market trends...we work hard at truly making this communication to serve the audience with "news they can use" as opposed to being purely self serving..choose us, pick us, refer us.

We know that as a result...the newsletters are shared with other neighbors, church groups, employee bulletin boards, teachers lounges and other places. 

    Since this is a monthly market effort, during the month we have eyeswriting for articles we see on the active rain, newstories in other media that may be  relevant  and put them in a file on our hard drive so that this does not become an "all at once" labor intensive sort of task.

    Members of our brokerage that are part of our downline also receive versions if they wish to support their marketing efforts if they so choose. Their spheres have embraced this effort and they have been rewarded with referrals and compliments.

   Different niches in our practice have different content but each newsletter also includes a second sheet that is not real estate related but is a kind of life lesson. This is printed on  colorful themed letterhead to match the season or holiday that month.  We buy all our letterhead and envelopes in bulk and our commercial grade printers handle the hard work of printing each version. The "newsy" newsletter is printed on a colored sheet that coordinates with the themed letterhead.  handwritten notesAll neatly folded in our purple envelope...and also we may put handwritten notes in some of them each month...i.e. thank you for joining us at "Nacco Tacho Tuesday"...Congratulations on...whatever personal message is appropriate. 

     Newsletters, labels (updated monthly), envelopes and first class postage are picked up by a gal who assists us in this task and off they go to the post office.

      Writing and cooking are two of my "passions" ...sometimes stress them what you will...I enjoy it and hope that our newsletters like this post has brought you "news you can use."
