Lake Merritt is probably one of the most famous and iconic landmarks in Oakland. It has been listed as a National Historic Landmark since 1963. May 18th - Turn the Page! Children's Book Authors and Illustrator Event, 10:30am – 3:30pm
Where: Children's Fairyland, 699 Bellevue Ave, Oakland, CA 94610
Hear authors read their works aloud, see illustrators demonstrate their techniques, and learn about how children’s books are created!
May 19th - Camron Stanford House, 1pm – 4pm
Where: Camron-Stanford House, 1418 Lakeside Dr, Oakland, CA 94612
Tours of the house and current exhibit are held on Sunday afternoons at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 P.M. No reservations necessary. The mission of the Camron-Stanford House Preservation Association is to preserve and protect this landmark Victorian home and garden for the public’s delight and to promote an appreciation of local history through engaging exhibits and events.
