Charlotte Weekend Fun: What To Do April 13 & 14
Still thinking about what you might do for fun this weekend? Lots of options for both kids and adults to enjoy the spring weather and participate in Easter-related fun activities, as well.
Blakeney Easter Celebration: Saturday, April 13 & Sunday, April 14
Don't forget to hop over to a fun Easter event in the Ballantyne area to usher in the Easter season on two days -- Saturday, from 11:00 am till 4:00 pm and Sunday, beginning at 1:00pm till 4:00 pm. The inaugural Blakeney Easter Celebration will feature photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny at his own Bunny house on the Village Green. A portion of the proceeds from Easter Bunny photo sales will go directly to the South Charlotte Dog Rescue. Plus lots of Easter-themed activities, games, face painting, a DJ. Kids can enjoy a coloring contest on Sunday.
Blakeney is located at the corner of Ardrey Kell and Rea Roads at 9839 Rea Road in Charlotte.
4th Annual Pints For Paws Charlotte: Saturday, April 13
Pints for Paws Charlotte will benefit the Live.Wag.BARK! Foundation. This amazing Foundation is a private non-profit, charitable organization located in Charlotte whose mission is to educate pet owners on responsible pet ownership by partnering with local animal rescue groups, shelters, city animal control and pet businesses to show pet owners how to build a bond with their pet, understand their behavior and give them the tools they need to help their pet live a long, happy and healthy life. As the Foundation's slogan says: "changing pet owners into pet parents."
The event is FREE to the public and you're welcome to bring along your dog(s). The 2019 Pints for Paws event will include dog contests, dog adoptions, dog photobooth, a silent auction and much more.
Pints for Paws Charlotte takes place at from 2:00 pm till 6:00 pm at the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery's Biergarten located at 4150 Yancy Road in Charlotte.
Queen Charlotte Fair: March 28th till April 14th
Don't forget.... the Queen Charlotte Fair ends this weekend. It takes place at the Route 29 Pavilion in Concord near the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Saturday from noon till 11:00 pm and Sunday from noon till 10:00 pm. Weekdays from 4:00 pm till 10:00 pm, except on Fridays when you can enjoy till 11:00 pm. Hop To It In Indian Trail: Saturday, April 13
Indian Trail's Hop To It event will feature an easter egg hunt, face painting, bounce houses, crafts, games and more! The event will take place in Indian Trial's Chestnut Square Park and begins at 10:00 am with egg and scavenger hunts for kids of all ages starting at 10:30 am. The festivities will end at 1:00 pm.
Easter Egg Drop 2019 at Aw Shucks Farms In Monroe: Saturday, April 13
The first annual Easter Egg Drop, sponsored by Aw Shucks Farms, in Monroe, North Carolina will feature thousands of eggs dropped from a helicopter (11:00 am). But that's not all! From 10:00 am till 1:00 pm the kids can meet the Easter Bunny, enjoy a baby animal petting zoo, as well as games and prizes. No doubt that this will become a much anticipated annual event in the Charlotte metro area in years to come.
Loch Norman Highland Games In Huntersville: Saturday, April 13 & Sunday, April 14
The 26th Annual Loch Norman Highland Games at Rural Hill in Huntersville feature Highland Dancing, Bagpipe Bands, Highland Athletics, Giant Kid's Zone, Scottish Merchants, Haggis, Celtic Rock and Traditional Performers, Historic Reenactments, Scottish Country Dancing, Hearth Cooking, Whiskey Tastings, Kilted Running Events, Scottish Clan Societies, Long Bows and Blowguns Shootings, Battle Axe Throwing and much more! What fun if you have Scottish ancestry... but if you don't, so much fun to learn about Scottish traditions.
