Pondering Again About Men Of A Certain Age

Man Of A Certain Age

I was listening to an episode of All Things Considered on National Public Radio with a segment where host Terry Gross was interviewing Ray Romano, the stand-up comedian most familiar to people for his real-life based television sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond". Mr. Romano who later went on to other things also spoke of his later show "Men Of A Certain Age".

Not as financially successful as his previous effort, it was still awarded certain accolades. His thoughts brought me to ponder. As if I needed much prodding. Pondering Prodding.

Anyway I was pondering about men of a certain age after all I am one. I guess I attained that status at some point in my past. I imagine. My mind continues to jump as it is known to do. After a while I just ignore and embrace such randomness as a common occurence. I mean when one reaches a certain age, whatever that moment may be, why not accept it? Indeed.

Michael, I just got back from being with my family and age came up during my stay. We were all talking about how differently we think than we used too. Age seems to cause us all to evolve, hopefully, for the better. I ponder more as the years go by and am perfectly fine with that.

My son is there for work....ship yard. He is currently homeless here in NH (just sold his house and isn't closing on new one for several weeks). Being in California means he isn't with his wife and three boys, living with his in-laws. He is quite pleased. LOL

My daughter was only there one night. Stop over between Australia and home.

Sharon Tara - San Diego, especially during this time of the year, is a fun place to be. I lived there years(err decades ago) and I thought it seemed "too old" for me. Now, it fits much nicer - strange how that happens. Of course, the city has seen dramatic changes. It isn't America's Finest City for no reason. I hope he is enjoying his away time. I am sure your daughter anxiously awaits her return to New England.

Now, Michael, I would certainly see that you would listen to NPR, as that is my total GO TO for most things in the world (since I abhore the news, this is the only avenue for it to infiltrate my lovely and quiet world in the middle of nowhere). I love Terry Gross. I also totally embrace Ray Romano. Happened upon Everybody Loves Raymond much later than when it was popular the first time. My husband and I get alot of laughs and some moments of OMG, that's US...(we're not yellers, have kids or parents next door, but Ray's and Deborah's relationship is somewhat accurate).

I actually thoroughly enjoyed his new stand up comedy act/documentary on Netflix. It went back to his roots, surprising the crowd at the old comedy place where he started and they LOVED him.

Terry Gross is a master at interviewing people, don't you think? ...as for a man of a certain age, guessing that makes me a woman of a certain age? What the heck, whatever age I'm at seems to be perfect for the moment. My mom is nearly 93 and handles it so gracefully, she is good role model for aging.
