5 Amazing things to do in Jupiter Florida.
I can't imagine anyone passing through Jupiter and not being intrigued by the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. The majestic beacon fixed on the northern side of the Jupiter Inlet since 1860, has fascinated history buffs, locals and tourists alike for years. Designed by Lietenant George Meade of the Bureau of Topographical Engineers, and later modified by Lietenant Willam Raynolds, the Jupiter Lighthouse was completed under supervision of Captian Edward Yorke at a cost of more $60,000. At the base of the Lighthouse is the Jupiter Inlet Museum gallery & shop which is run by the Loxahatchee River Historical Society. Guided educational tours of the lighthouse are run daily. If you're looking for some heart-pounding exploration, the Jupiter Lighthouse's 105 spiral steps are worth the view from above.
#2 LOGGERHEAD MARINE LIFE CENTER.
Non-profit run interactive exhibit and on-site marine hospital allows visitors a first hand view at endangered sea turtles and south Florida ocean ecosystems. Marine themed interactive aquariums showcase tropical fish and rehabilitated turtles recovering from injuries. The Loggerhead Marine Life Center walk-through includes artifacts, public education and research center, and a host of rehabilitated turtle releases open to public viewing!
Shared by the Miami Marlins & the St. Louis Cardinals for baseball spring training, Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter Abacoa houses 6,600 seats and a spectacular outfield party deck, perfect for corporate events and catering. It's the only stadium in the county to host 4 minor league teams which include the Palm Beach Cardinals, Gulf Coast Cardinals, Gulf Coast Marlins and the Jupiter Hammerheads. Family events are hosted throughout the year with a variety of themes everyone will enjoy. After enjoying a game at the Roger Dean, baseball fans often head over to Abacoa Town Center for a juicy burger and ice cold beer at Stadium Grill. Just across the street Hokkaido offers a fantastic happy hour, sushi and habachi grill dining.
#4 JUNO PIER & JUPITER BEACHES.
It's hard to beat a day at the beach, soaking in the rays or casting a line off the pier in hopes of landing a prize fish for dinner. Jupiter is renown for miles of Atlantic crystal blue waters lapping the coastline shores. The beach road offers free parking year 'round. Walkways lead to a multitude shelters, beach side showers and wooden stair walkways are reasonably spaced for easy access to the sand. Dog friendly beaches run south of Carlin Park and to the north of the Juno Pier. Receptacles and pet waste bags are placed at the top of each beach stair access way, and the Friend's of Jupiter Beach organize monthly events resulting in one of the cleanest beaches on the eastern seaboard. The Juno Beach Pier admission is fair and affordable. Spectators pay $1, and anglers admission is $4 per day and $2 for kids under 12 who want to fish. Didn't bring a fishing pole, bait, food or drinks? No worries, the Juno Pier bait and tackle shop has about everything you'll need for an impromptu visit.
5# JUPITER WATERFRONT DINING. There's no lack of scenic dining in and around Jupiter. Head towards the south side of Jupiter Inlet for fine dining to causal tiki hut outdoor fun. Jetty's is an upscale seafood establishment with views of the Jupiter Lighthouse, adjacent to U-Tiki with it's open outdoor concept overlooking a myriad of fishing boats and yachts. Just up the street Guanabana's and Square Grouper offer up appetizers, cold beer and great selection of wines, live entertainment and tropical waterfront ambiance. 1000 North, just west of the intracoastal bridge offers an exclusive dining experience co-owned by Ernie Els and Michael Jordan is a top choice when it comes to celebrating special events.
